Hoo-boy, is it windy here! Dad arrived to take his turn at incubation, and with those great falcon tailfeathers, just about went flying head over heels. He was hanging onto the ledge for dear life, then managed to get into the nestbox and settle down, none the worse for the experience.

Sawatzke just left the nestbox, calling out in alarm. I could hear in the background a sort of crackling noise, and Sawatzke could hear this, too, and did not like it. Now, he is gone, so I hope all is well here. The close-up is great, but of course, now when we would like to see what is going on outside the nestbox, we can't.

The last egg was laid on April 29, so I expect that we should have hatching on Thursday or Friday of next week. We will have an excellent view of the hatching with this great camera close-up!

This is a great view but for the hatching it would be nice to have the inside cam in my opinion :egg11:

I got about one of the best Emails yet this year
Hi Kitten - had an email from PEFGirl that Dot the Falcon has been located. She is nesting at City Hall in Minneapolis (no webcam - Dot was identified by her band numbers). Needless to say I am super happy. Just wanted to let you know.

Now I can go back to calling myself Dot the Human.

I have been watching here as much as I can, and I have the sound turned up, but I cannot hear anything that sounds like newborn chicks. I will keep my eyes peeled for action here.

Mrs. Sawatzke is on the eggs now, looking a little bored, picking at the gravel; I did not see the changeover, even though I have been watching fairly diligently. Egg #2 was laid on April 27, so that is 33 days to today. I think today should be the day for the chicks to arrive, but we will see.

She just got up, revealing the eggs, and I could not see any evidence of a crack or line.
