I've been checking in on the nest pretty regularly this morning, while doing housework, and I have yet to see/hear anyone. I might just have bad timing, but I am generally not this unlucky. Hopefully they are just out painting the town.

ETA: Donna updated her blog with the news of Spark's identity.

Durand has just landed and is checking on the eggs. . she's also doing some scraping in the nest box. .

1114am - Just turned on the cam to find Durand on the ledge. She just entered the nestbox and is scraping around.

I often read what's going on here, but don't post a lot. Happy to be reading that one of Scout and Orville's grandfalcons has been ID'd in Columbus. How old is he? Sadly, this will likely be another year when Durand doesn't become a mother. And she's tried so hard.

Spark hatched in 2011.

Durand is now back on ledge, after playing peek-a-boo while walking down the inner ledge!

Makes me a little sad to see the nestbox stay so clean for so long. What I wouldn't give to see a decapitated flicker or a poo-streaked lens...

Durand in the box. . the eggs are fading into memory, I'm afraid. . she only glanced at them twice.. then starting scraping and picking up pebbles. .

1139AM Durand mid ledge looking out, chupping. Saw fly-by.

She enters box, chupping and is now doing a little scraping.

Durand just landed briefly on the ledge ..took off, saw a fly by, then some body landed on the next ledge. .

1:34 Durand lands and goes in the box .. Spark is almost right behind her and lands on the ledge.

She tried to get him in the box .. didn't work. . so, she came out .. and got fairly close before he took off. .

Next goal. . both in the box!!!

Both gone now. .

I love how now that we've ID'd him, he flashed his bling nice and clear on the nest cam! Go figure!

Thanks for the info on Spark. And now I see his picture, too. Still partial juvie plumage, but a great looking falcon.
