I hate to even think this but could NG have Trich?? Thought she would have built up enough antibodies to preven it but she is relatively young.

reason for this horrid thought is that didnt one of the previous symptoms or behavior when they were ill with trich?

crossing all 12 fingers and toes and even my eyes in hoping that i am very very very wrong

Was just reading everything from earlier and a thought crossed my mind. Remember on banding day there was an unwanted guest . Do you think it would be possible that NG encountered it later that day or the next day? Just a thought.

Oh! I was drawn to check things before doing chores. I am so terribly upset. I called my husband to see her picture. She is surely in trouble. Heida, you have a good thought there. Although she was on the ledge looking normal since then. This is SO sad. George, your idea is also a probabilty. I remember Blue Boy two years ago, that did that swallowing difficulty from Trich. What an insidious disease that is. SGB, you too have a very good idea with Head Trauma. That is three possibilities. Sure hope she can be helped. How painful this is.

If NG is injured or sick then Lil' Dad would be trying to provide her, himself, and the chicks with food at a time when both parents usually have to hunt. I wonder if they would supplement the food if needed. As I recall, even that day we thought NG had returned to her old self when she sat on the stick for so long, she might have been acting strange then. I don't remember her preening or stretching or anything, until she moved to the shield at dark.

The poor little babies are eating scraps, and playing around. They are doing ok so far I think, but chicks need two parents. Who will protect them when Lil' Dad is away hunting? I pray that NG recovers from whatever it is.

Somehow I keep missing seeing her. Maybe that is ok for me.

Oh my word, Lil' Dad just dropped down from the other cam I think, so it is NG on the cam above the nest.

IT must be NG on top of the cam. .and Lil' Dad must have been on the other cam .. he jumped down and is feeding now. .

Scared the heck out of me, I nearly swallowed my cracker whole. He is back looking for scraps for them and they are crying, but they got totally quiet when he left rather than crying to NG>

I'm thinking this explains her "stealing" the food. If she's sick or injured, she probably can't hunt for herself & is hungry--poor thing.

I think NG is on the camera above the scrape. Looks like Lil Dad has showed up with a small amount of food. That picture of NG is so sad! I hope they can catch her and find out what is wrong.
