OK so now we have another Falcon Nestbox to watch thanks to wskrsnwingsour great newest member at the Upper Mississippi Eagles nest
Thank you very much

Peregrine Falcon Box was installed on 2/3/2012 on top of the Consolidated Grain Elevator in Savanna, IL. Nest box was placed there in February, 2010.
The Peregrines moved in immediately in 2010 and setup home. 4 chicks fledged in 2010 and 5 chicks fledged in 2011.
They should be coming back in early March.

Nest News 2012

2012 February 8 - The webcams have been temporarily taken offline for maintenance.

I'm assuming this means that we'll have a new nestbox too.

Riverview Tower nest info
I found some pictures there and the female is Gypsy b/g N/53 2005 daughter of Copper b/g 7/*C 2001 & banded but unknown male
Cooper is daughter of Dakota Ace b/r *H/D 1997 & Goldie b/g 9/*D 1999 at Fargo ND
Goldie daughter of Winnie bl *T/6 1994 from Mary Speechly Hall, Univ. Manitoba, Winnipeg & Zeus b/r X/R
age unknown and they are from
DRUM ROLL PLEASE Woodman Tower, Omaha NE,

I swear that almost every falcon within 1000 mile from Woodsman is related to Zeus somehow :teehee:

Riverview Tower is a 206 condominium building located on the banks of the Mississippi river in downtown Minneapolis. From this camera, you can see the big river, the city skyline, the new I-35 bridge that was built to replace the one which collapsed in 2007 [video link]
the University of Minnesota, and the Stone Arch bridge. Late RRP board president Rob MacIntyre and building engineer Randy Mata built and installed the original nest box here to attract peregrines and help control pigeons. The box quickly attracted female Gypsy (N/53) and male Frisco (K/13), who took up residence in 2010. The pair had previously nested on the nearby Cedar-Riverside building, which lacks a nestbox. The current nest box was built by Jonathan Howe as part of his Eagle Scout project. We installed it in late 2011
We don't know much about the history of the adult Decorah Bald eagles, but Peregrine falcons have been banded since recovery efforts began in the early 1970s. Gypsy fledged from the Sartell Paper Mill in Stearns county, MN in 2005 - about 68 miles north of here. Frisco, a 2006 hatch from Lock and Dam 1 in Minneapolis, stayed considerably closer to home. The pair has produced a total of 6 young here. Since falcons don't normally nest until they are two years old, we don't know whether or not any of them survived past their first year.

Nest updates and photos will be posted in this channel. We expect falcons here possibly as early as February, and eggs in late April to early March.
