HOLY SMOKE!!!!! Wow! So much happening in such a little bit of time!! Absolutely LOVED every line in your recount Sue. That should be published!! Maybe at the Carson Bldg. somewhere? So amazed at the new Female. Wow just caught Lil Dad taking off from the ledge down front. Reenie glad you could get there last night with Charles.

Now! Why is it every year there is a Dove to be rescued.LOL!!! I have pictures of Jane with a Dove from last year and a few years ago it was a White pigeon. I was there last year when a Dove incident happened. They must nest in those trees.

Well, we all thought nothing much was going on when everything was quiet on the ledge after Red was put back. (Lil Dad talking to Blue Boy at the Column.)Blue crying up a storm.Dad on the point now. You folks on the ground were kept rather busy.

Now all I see is one on the stick. Lil Dad?

How sweet. Dad and Red on the stick.

8:20 Lil Dad lands and removes the leftovers. Red Boy hopping around here and there and heads toward the column.
8:25 Lil Dad returns with prey (not sure if leftovers or fresh) and with an echup delivers it to Red Boy near the column. Red snatches it away, mantles and Lil Dad flies off, but immediately lands on the point.



Red Boy starts screaming and with prey in right foot, hops all the way down to the point, stopping once to pick it up in his beak, then back to the right foot.



He brings it right up to Lil Dad screaming, and in the next refresh, Lil Dad is gone, prey is gone and Red Boy is left on the point, like, "what?"



Edit: Sorry, I had to change Blue to Red.

Now dad on camera perch.

Blue- "Well, I can't get up there yet!" LOL!!! I had better get breakfast.

Lil Dad must have stashed the prey because now he's back on the stick, with Red Boy running all the way from the point to ask where the food went.



Lil Dad leaves again and goes to his cam perch.

Lesson: Better eat it yourself or I'll take it away.

That's Red on the ledge. Reenie correct it on page 18 that it was Blue who fledged and not Red. SO confusing.

Nancy, that food senerio you wrote about happened with NG when she was so sick and couldn't hunt for herself. She took the food Lil Dad brought in and it gave the appearance that she was stealing. NOT at all!

Love your pictures, Reenie--thanks for posting them! My favorites are the ones of Lil Dad feeding Red Boy.

Remember how Red Girl (Wilmington Red) would go out there on the stick, but it took her forever to fledge?

Edit: Just looked at the 5/25 pictures. When Lil Dad was feeding the boys by the column, you all must have been sweating bullets. Not much room to maneuver there!
