What sad news at the Harrisburg nest! I've been following the events over the past few days, but I've been too upset to post.

My heart goes out to Reenie, Jane, Sue, and the others in the Harrisburg area who've been doing everything they can to locate NG. And my heart goes out to all the faithful posters here who've kept an eye on the ledge looking for NG.

I just have to keep reminding myself that there's still some good news here: The kids appear healthy and Lil' Dad is there to take care of them. He's such a super falcon dad, and I know that the kids will continue to thrive under his watchful care.

I see one of the boys preening in the shade of the orange pole, up against the building. I see some abandoned prey in another view, but the second boy is not in evidence. It appears there is enough breeze up there this morning to make stuck down feathers wave around. That ledge is sure a mess!

Thanks for the good wishes from all and the wonderful pictures. Sue and I should get down there around noonish. It is so beautiful here today. Lil Dad is on the stick as I type this. One boy sacked out next to the building, and the other one in the shade of the orange post.

I just don't think that they grieve like we do, at least I hope not. Otherwise, with the harsh living conditions, constant intruders and battles, food shortages, and sudden deaths of their little chicks and mates, how could they go on?

Sue, Jane, be sure to check out the train station. :egg15:

When I come back from Georgia I have to work a week in the Office. After that I will be coming out West to H.B. to see all of you there. I will be in touch with you personally, and let you know which weekend, and the Plans. As we did with Mom, we need to lean on each other at times like this. Many of you got some comfort when we met on the Grassy Knoll.

Right now I'm still in Prayer Mode to St. Fransis Of Asissi, and St. Anthony in hopes that she will be found, and be able to be helped. Each passing day troubles me greatly as I'm sure all of you as well. We all need each other to get through this, one way, or another.

I WISH THOSE TWO RED WOODPECKER HEADS WOULD DISAPPEAR, THEY KEEP REMINDING ME OF NG INSTEAD OF BEING ABLE TO CONCENTRATE ON WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE CHICKS ON THE LEDGE :-(

I know what you mean Reenie. When I first saw the closer one there 2 or three days ago, I just stared at it trying to figure out what it was (it was turned differently). When I realized, it hit hard, poor NG's collection. :egg15:

Lil' Dad on the stick. He might have brought in some food because the chicks appear to be eating but I didn't see.

Oh dear, I have not read here for a few days and then I read that NG has not been seen! I have seen her last campic and there she looks really not good. My heart is breaking.

I hope she is allright but personally I think she is not and that Lil Dad has to rais his chicks by his own.....

I read somewhere that hawks, eagles and falcons mate for life but don't mourn a minute. In Wilmington when Caesar disappeared in late April 2010, Red Girl didn't take long before making herself look conspicuous and available in display flights soaring high over town. CJ showed up in early May, less than two weeks after Caesar disappeared.
