Look at how much Spark has changed since he arrived. He's so handsome. I'm so happy to see these two bonding like this. Durand deserves it SOOO much!

Thank you!

On ward and upward
Rochester waited and so shall we here.

Thanks Carly.

I find it interesting that it was 2 years in a row with infertile eggs. I guess I wasn't surprised the first year because it was Durand's first clutch.

I guess in a good way, with all that transpired, it was good they were infertile and didn't contain embryos. On the other hand, I wonder why they were infertile again.

I see falcon on far ledge

In Red Deer, no chicks for a few years and new female this year, and 3 chicks

Hope Durand is fertile I like her. Too bad they do not put chicks in when they are not fertile

Well, I'm glad Donna was able to get the eggs and I'm relieved they weren't fertile. .that would have really been sad. I think most of us felt like Chance and Flyboy were one in the same so maybe the infertility/or the failure to fertilize lies with him.

Can a female even lay an egg if she cannot produce an ovum? Its the ripening ovum that triggers the whole thing. .Guess I'd better break out Google. .

Its nice that Donna provided a final report and they are so attentive to cleaning out the nest and gravel. Crossing my fingers for a great year next year. Durand certainly deserves it, and all her adoring fans!

Good to know that the eggs were not fertile (again) . Does make sense that the male was the same as last year.
In Eemsmond (the Netherlands) there were three years without fertile eggs. Then apparently a new male arrived (female was confirmed to be the same as the previous years) and eyases hatched again.

I have been "missing in action' for the past week. Having problems with left shoulder and arm and therefor hardly any time at the computer. (just so you know :egg9: )

Thank you Coriena for the video - was that Spark? He seems so tall! Can you imagine standing on the edge of a ledge 41 stories off the ground and then to lift a leg and chew on it? I would fall off backwards

After hearing again about a failed nesting season, it just goes to show you the repercussions of what the man did to Scout.

I think about Scout and Orville often but especially at this time of year - July 2 and 3 when we lost Orville and Scout. I miss them alot!!

I sure hope that Durand gets to be a mother, she sure deserves it. I have this fear that Chance will show up year after year. I know that someone reported that they believed he ran into a window or something , and I don't wish anything bad on any little creature, I just don't want him to come back again.

DEF, hope you get better soon.

I hope the resident peregrines will survive this year's "Red, White & Boom" - scheduled for July 3rd. It's being touted as bigger than ever this year.

:loveheart2: What a wonderful memorial to Scout and Orville, SGB. I can't thank you enough for posting it. Scout and Orville were - without a doubt - my favorite falcon pair to watch, and it's just not the same without either of them there in Columbus.

SGB, that is a beautiful tribute to these two wonderful peregrine falcons, Scout and Orville. Thank you very much.
