I just checked Great River on Saturday & it wasn't live then, but I was hoping they'd be live soon! Just checked it out & only WMP is live (as SGB said). Nothing shows up on their webpage. I was also hoping when I looked on Saturday that they would mention when they were going live & all it says it mid-March. I wonder if (like Harrisburg) they test the cam for a few days before announcing that the cam is up. But this is great--thanks, SGB!

Thanks SGB - I clicked on your link, and got GRE right away - no plug ins or anything needed - knowing the cam is up and working make my prayers for Dot's safe return even stronger. :thumbup
Thanks Kittenface for alerting me on the RRP forum --- where I'm waiting for Snowflake to go out for the evening so I can see if there is egg #4 under there. :gaaaaah:

Looks abit chilly this morning in Great River; lots of snow around, and no sign of Dot or Dad. This is such a good camera view, and I am so looking forward to seeing them.

It doesn't look like there has been anything moved around yet

I think you can get the cam on the webpage now. I couldn't, but that could be my computer. However, the message on the page says that as of 3/8, there have been no falcon sightings around the nestbox.

Hey all! Yes, the GRE birdcam is back online. We had to replace some old hardware this year, that's why you saw the video feed coming and going. It should be up for the rest of the season now. If you notice the video is down, send me a PM and I'll take a look.

We'd prefer to have you view the video from http://www.greatriverenergy.com/aboutus ... rdcam.html. That is the link that we pull statistics from to know how many people are watching, but I know that many of you have figured out other ways.

If you are getting a red X on the website, you either need to allow the Active X control to run (If you're running IE, look for the yellow bar at the top of your browser window.) or you may need to download Windows Media (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... dia-player). Mac users, I think there is a Windows Media plug-in for Mac, but I don't know the URL off-hand.

We are working on something different for next year, but this is what it is for now.

Happy Birding!!
Tammy

Thank you so much, Tammy, for checking in here and sharing that information. I'll definitely use the cam link via your website. It's really great. :valthumb:

The site and web cam work fine in Chrome and Firefox for me, but not in IE9. WM player is installed and active.
