I can hear crows/jackdaws in the background. Maybe that's what is bothering them. We see the flying, but I don't think she ever alarm called? Then again, I tuned in probably towards the end of all this.

Oh good.

I am going to look at videos now.

that is what confused me mwplay , is there was never alarm calling. And I heard plenty in my day. I think I kept saying chupping, alarm calling is cacking.

8:54pm I think I have 7 hours difference . I will go and check
she is sleeping at the door and egg under her tail and a feather on her beak.

Confusing day.

I am sure another egg will be laid.
Remember the year at Columbus she laid and egg and then days and days later she started laying more. Scout that was..

Wilmington jsut had its 5th egg later than usual. Never say never.
I hope it settles down.

What is that meowing?

That is a peacock :vallaugh: People who live there, just across the road, have had them for years. When I started watching De Mortel in 2006 they were there already.
I even have a small breast feather of one of them. Picked it up when I was at the tower in 2010.

The story of today in a nutshell:
This morning there were two falcons, Pa and 2OR. They mated in the large antenna that is not visible on the webcams of Beleef de Lente but can be seen when you watch the towercam on Natuurkanaal.
GerritE. has pictures of the event and is absolutely sure about the ID of the two. Later on in the day 4 small trucks arrived and a work crew went up the tower to do some work on the 3rd ring (there are 4 and I am counting from bottom to top).
That is probably the reason for the upset in the early afternoon. :gaaaaah:

The afternoon flying was observed by quite a few people right there on the spotters field and they didn't get the impression that it was a real and fierce territorial battle.
Consensus is that it is a young male, could even be the son of Pa and S2 (JG).
Lambert had a live broadcast and showed Pa sitting on a light at the south side, well beneath the bottom ring and he was quietly eating.
The flying was more playfull than aggressive. At least that was what the observers have reported. And they are all veterans.

The way 2OR is sitting right now makes me think a second egg is on it's way.

Thanks for the report, DEF. It was quite a relief to get that information and learn that things were not as bad as they seemed!

Thanks DEF. It is always good to know. and to knwo the various sounds.

Now this explains why no cacking. She was upset for sure but not cacking.

When watching the flying you could never see any contact.

HOping for that egg also
