Bev, I'm soo happy for you, and of course for Radisson. :egg5: :hapdance: :egg5:

Lets keep our fingers crossed the male is going to take care more now, now that there is a newborn.

I guess we'll all be nervous for the next week or so as we wonder if the male will at least bring food close enough that mom doesn't have to leave the chicks for more than a few minutes.

:nervous:

Good job :eggthumbs:

I did not see him incubate.

It is hard sometimes to distinguish them in nest . He checked it out but that is all I saw

He was in And R was very watchful

I think this is Radisson in nestbox now; it is so hard to tell for sure without close-ups of the nestbox.

The young fellow is in the nestbox with Radisson right now; I think she is giving him instructions on what she expects from him.

R is in box 1:02pm

M comes in and is nosy. She does not get up. she chups at him and he goes to lip and flies off. He will get the idea to bring food

there is food all around there so he just has to bring it. If need be R can go and get it.

I saw a shell under her but could be same shell

pictures coming

edit to add pictures he looks like he is peeking :egg11: :egg11:

Now i'm starting to doubt my eyes but was so sure of what i saw. R was incubating, male came in, R got up and male went over to look at chick, then started to incubate. Didn't get it right for a few minutes - the chick was still exposed, then he got chick under him. R was watching the whole time, she waited a few minutes, maybe to make sure he was getting it right, then she flew off. I watched a few minutes more to make sure male wouldn't follow her then i took a break.

But maybe i'm way out to lunch and if so, my profuse apologies.

I missed this, Evelyn; all I saw was the male in the box with her, then he was gone, so I hope you are right, and that he is getting the hang of it.
