Well he has waited for a long time and is now in box, rooting in right corner. He first went over by R and poof he is gone

Live cam just went off line. poo. Probably will be like this for weekend. Well will jsut have to keep wathc on refresh. looking for a feed

Cam back up but stuck

The boy is back in the nestbox with Radisson. I think she is doing a fine job of showing him what he is supposed to do. I am willing to bet that he will have it all figured out by tomorrow!

I was hoping someone was watching. I had company but came in on eggs and chick alone and then male came in , looked at chick and quickly went down and then up and then lay to right side o chick and was watching it.
R came back in and I had to leave to bid company goodbye and came back to R on eggs and chick. I am assuming chick fed, but cannot say for sure as I did not see

I do not think r has been gone for long but chick is alone. Male was in for a bit and poked at it and when it moved , he looked and has now gone. chick is moving around but needs covered.
It was up and calling and flopped down.

This is male back in and he is on chick and covering it Yeah!!!!

R just came in with a huge honking bird. I do not think it was quite dead

and she banged it around a bit and then left.

She just is back without bird, but hopefully little guy defeathering and then supper

She is getting youngster under her

The male has been on roof of box for about 10 minutes now and R inside adn a big insect moved across screen.

Thank you, bev, for such great coverage today. My favorite part was when the male covered the little chick. To me, this is the major break-through. I think it will all click from here. Love this new guy because he's trying so hard.

R sees something and is alert ( knew I should have gone down but wanted to watch for feed, which I am sure has happened by now

Love this guy also. He si so funny, the way he follows R and we know it is becasue he is learning.

I can not always be here and we need to monitor closely, to be sure all is working out. first step, he covered chick but we need regular feeds and I am sure there must have been one. I know there is food because I saw her bring in that huge bird, so...

R looked like she was getting ready to leave and then went back in.

Certainly wanting to get out there

Radisson in nestbox with chick. No sign of our young male at present. Getting too dark to see a feed, if there is one.
