male gone but R listening, I hope, to sounds in eggs



and I am off for a bit. I hope to see a hatch or 2. I am O.K. with a hatch this year.

There's been a hatch !!! R is nibbling at eggshell. 99 % sure anyway. 8:30 AM MDT

Just got home from workout and saw a shell out front. but now not in view . will try for a scape

report from last night

May31/2012

when we got down there last night, male was on inside lip and R was flying around second level of Maz.

Jean text ed us and told us that R had chased male back to box 2 times in last 10 minutes. She is teaching him to stay there. She needs him to.

He always flies to where she is so it is easy to chase him back.

Jean came down for a visit. she is addicted

R flew to west part of Maz and when young man flew over to her, they were both soaring and then she flew into box and he flew on top of silver column left of box. He eventually flew down and sat on outside wrung looking in.

He then flew off after awhile and perched on west face of college plaza and then flew off and soared around and then landed on north face and proceeded to eat. Very messy.
He is a good provider so far. He had a big piece of prey on north face ledge of College Plaza. Jean went back up to take a picture and it was A DUCK. I have picture on my other computer so will post later.



He then flew off ledge with some prey in his talons, and took it right up to box. R flew out and up to west face of maz, we could not see if she had food or not. Male stayed don outside wrung of box.

R flew back up to box , shortly after, and male flew to west lower part of Maz. He appeared to have a small piece of food.

then he flew over to south jut of clinical and stayed there for a bit.

He eventually flew off quickly and flew north east , out of sight. Of course, Peter had some remarks o f him stepping out on R with High level female. I should smack him one

We waited around and then we heard R calling out. Now I have never heard her give alarm call unless danger, but we knew she was calling for male to get back there.
It was long after that , that I saw male come from behind Suite hotel and make a bee-line for box. He perched on cam outside box and that is where we left him. He really listened to her call.

Becky came down also and so we had come good visits.She so loves the falcons and we will miss her when she leaves towards the end of June

Hope to post some pictures after i see this little chick.
this young male is learning the ropes and I am hoping for good things form him

R has really stepped up her training of him in last couple of days and she does need him

Congratulations to Radisson and Auntie Bev

I am just so excited right now.

We have learned so much already this season. We have seen R train this young male . She has taught him to hunt and where, right before our eyes. She taught him how to copulate ,before our eyes, we have seen her buzz him, when he was outside wrung of box, to get him ot go inside, and we have seen her chase him in.

He is young and he wants to be around her.

all things change now and we look forward to watching him grow more.

I sometimes kick myself for getting involved with falcons because it becomes so time consuming , but to watch all this from the ground and the cam has become such a wonder of all wonders. We are truly blessed, to witness all we witness, both good and bad. .

I was watching him. Will be interesting to see what he thinks of chicks. I am sure he will not hurt them but I am sure R wants this little one to dry off before she will leave it. And there may be more pipping going on.

I have to go out in a ibt so if anyone sees the young guy alone with chick, please post

I am keeping an eye on the nestbox, as much as I can. Radisson is in there; no sign of our male. Seeing as he was in the nestbox earlier and saw the chick, maybe he has gone off to think about this turn of events. This is a big day in his life.

I will check in every now and then too, or just keep the cam up and look whenever I pass by.
