I'm hooked! Sweetest of the sweet. And, such a caring and loving mother. Zoo reports that Bai Yun's gift to the world is one of the chubbiest cubs ever born there.

Anyone know if cubs are still being returned to China once mature?

Check out the little one...he's really growing and now has eyes open! Still appears miniscule beside Big Mama but is healthy and right on track in term of growth. Cutest little guy!

Mama is wonderful with him - caught her giving him a tongue bath today. She certainly is thorough! This is her 5th cub, so she's had lots of practice.

The Cub’s Eyes are Open!
The 6.4-pound (2.9-kilogram) cub was more vocal than during past checkups. He didn’t hesitate to grunt as he objected to being measured,
but when he received a distemper vaccine, his protest got the attention of Bai Yun and concluded the exam. She immediately
comforted him back in the den. Both of the cub’s eyes have now opened. He can see light but his sight is not yet acute.
