Those were great, Bev. Of course, the first one wouldn't play for me in my ancient version of Firefox, but played in my ancient version of Chrome...go figure!! I liked the music!! From this morning...Mom fluffing the nest..then Dad comes in for his turn.   Mom's leg was very stiff and she never put weight on it for the few seconds she was on the limb..

Thanks Bev.....poor Ma Berry. She is really favoring that left foot this year. The arthritis from her old injury is probably getting worse with age. I'll bet it's very stiff and painful when she's been sitting in one position a long time. I recall her last year having trouble getting up after brooding. She just perseveres. What a trooper. I've been watching the Northeast nest on the weekends, but this weekend I'll look in on this nest. |

She really is a trooper!! I watched her for a while yesterday...and went through the DVR to look for the switches/egg rolls...she did fairly well!! She used her wing a couple of times on the nest for balance , but I don't think it was because of the leg issue, but more of an oops moment to avoid stepping on the eggs. Once she caught her balance, it appeared she put full weight on the Left leg before getting on the eggs...I didn't catch a time when she went to that left upper branch...you usually can get a good look at that left leg/foot when she does that. |

us lost my post . yesterday dad brought in squirrel fo r mom which she ate later in day today he brought a fish  dad feeds her a piece   dad leaves and mom eats  mom gulps down last bit  mom brought in a branch in her left talon today (yeah) and more hay.  dad brings in a branch which he drops on mom head   I really feel mom is on mend again. the nest is fluffy and bole is deep so it is hard for both of them at times ot wander. mom is very careful around the eggs. mom had 3 nice breaks today, which helps her leg. love this pair

I just watched a switch with Mom coming in to relieve Dad with the eggs around 120pm. Mom continues to favor that L leg, but functions with it. She very gingerly puts weight on it. I wish I could do videos. As she was getting onto the eggs, she was leaning to the R side, putting full weight on the R foot and supporting herself with her R wing as she positioned herself. She looked like a listing boat. As she moved down on the eggs, she continued to lean right. The L leg was held out to the side in front of her. I feel so bad for her, as that leg does appear painful. She just pushes through it. Such spirit. She seems to manage, but my heart goes out to her.

she was doing much better on her leg and then this week she started favoring it again. she brought in straw and brought branch n left talon this week. she may have overdone it. and there is a lot of straw on nest so she does not get sure footing sometimes. what I watch for is after she has rested off nest, if she can land two feet. but i send positive vibes for her, and hopefully it will heal again. we never know what goes on out of nest but I know ground crew is trying to get shots of her off nest to see how she does. she can obviously hunt etc. thanks Nadia fo r watching as I was busy last few days

I noticed that when she was incubating today, she tends to lean to the right...probably trying to keeping pressure off the L leg/foot. 209pm - Ma Berry leaning right.  226pm - Leaning to the right.  956pm - Leaning to the right.
