:ohyes: Indeed! Here is a video courtesy of Birdbrain56 of the American Eagle Foundation of Sky getting up on that branch yesterday. Such a watchful Mom...Juliet really kept her eagle eyes on both Sky and Spirit during the whole ordeal to make sure they did not get into trouble. It's cute to watch Sky trying to figure out how to get back down....lol.

I am watching now. It is funny. I loved it when she did the sidestep. I think she was making sure she wouldn't be blown away by Spirit's wingersizing. Wonder when Spirit will join in the fun.

:loveshow: 10 weeks old. Where has the time gone? Sky has gotten very comfy perching on the sunset branch. It's seems to be her favorite spot. She was up there most of today and she is doing a one-footed perch with ease. Spirit has been perching on the edge of the rails. I'm waiting for Spirit to get higher and do some more branching. Tonight Spirit is content to sleep in the nest while Sky is on the sunset branch, like a big eagle. First flight should be coming soon. Unfortunately, we lost cam 1, so these pics are from cams 2 and 3. Here are pics from yesterday and today.

Yesterday 206pm - Spirit resting in the nest.

Yesterday 208pm - Sky on the sunset branch.

Yesterday 223pm - Sky on the sunset branch.

Today 432pm - Sky on the left on the sunset branch and Spirit on the rails.

:hapdance: Woo hoo....what great news on Sky's fledge. Thank you all. She did a super job and was more than ready. The last few days, she has been preparing for this big moment by practicing take-offs and landings using perches within the pine further and further from the nest. She has even been sleeping at night on the lookout branch like a big eagle. Here's a video of this mornings fledge with a strong take-off at 1:38 into the video. I love Spirits response to her when he sees his big sister heading back toward the nest. Too cute! :15heartbeat: Video courtesy of Sandy F. of the American Eagle Foundation.

:flirty: Spirit is so adorable....missing his big sister Sky after she departed from the nest today. Listen to his vocals calling for her. I never knew eaglets made these sounds. I only thought they could squeeeee until the time they developed their adult voice. This video is so touching. Video courtesy of birdbrain56 of the American Eagle Foundation.

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but I understand Sky did a nice fly-about yesterday morning and returned to the nest. Juliet served up a large brunch of rabbit that stuffed both kids, resulting in some very sleepy eaglets. Sky laid down first for a nap and then Spirit snuggled up to her. I could not resist capturing the moment. Spirit really likes being close to his big sister.

117 pm - Sky on the left and Spirit on the right. :loveheart2:
