A2 was in the nest late this morning and Samson was here as recently as early evening, but nobody on the tree tonight!

They are saying Samson flew in twice this morning, the first time was after 3. There is an eagle on the tree now, but I have been unable to find the familiar head markings of Samson. Don't know as yet if Samson has left and a different eagle has flown in? "Tuck-In" from Friday eve and mod updates through the night:

Apr 19, 9:17 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): FRIDAY TUCK: I think the weather spooked wildlife today with reason. It's calm now, and tomorrow should be a beautiful day in the Hamlet. Neither Samson or A2 were seen tonight at dusk at the nest or near the LYT as they have been lately. They will likely show up in the morning. SED Y'all!
Apr 20, 4:05 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 5 am check-in: Guess what? Samson snuck in once again and is perched on Sunset branch!
Apr 20, 4:53 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Rewinding, looks like Samson flew in at 3:43 am
Apr 20, 5:40 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 6:40 am Samson is busy preening and rousing and all the things eagles do in the early morning

They are saying Samson flew earlier. Right now there is an eagle in the nest eating a fish, but I can not tell who it is with the glare of the sun. More updates and pics from the mod:

Samson is currently on cam 2! The "Tuck-In":

Apr 20, 9:09 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): SATURDAY TUCK: Arriving at the nest this evening both Samson and A2 were at the nest. They both flew approx 8pm across into a tall pine in a community across the main street. Then one flew. Leaving at 8:25 (dark) one was still perched and one flew to the nest later. We have Samson currently roosting at home. SED Y'all and have a Beautiful and Blessed Easter as we celebrate the Risen King!

:buzzybee: Plenty of action today with A2 and Samson. They are not spending the night here, however. Here's a part of it with 34 pics, 1 photo, 1 video with stick war, updates and the "Tuck-In" by the AEF MODS:

Apr 22, 3:41 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): If you missed this morning's early morning action at the nest, here are photos of Samson and A2: https://www.flickr.com/photos/94664847@ ... res/U4003Q
Apr 22, 3:58 PM
aka_AEF (Moderator): Enjoy this super short video of A2 plucking a branch for the nest! https://youtu.be/pCjP4LKeNOc
Apr 22, 4:55 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 5:44 pm Samson decides to fly off, perhaps to join A2 for a dinner date. Hopefully they will rejoin us later.
Apr 22, 5:30 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Good evening Samson! Samson arrives at 6:28 and is perched on Lookout Point.
Apr 22, 6:25 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Samson can be seen on cam 2. Cam 1 is not cooperating tonight. I'm sorry.
Apr 22, 6:36 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Well I finally found Samson on cam 1 and he flew! Stinker!
Apr 22, 7:06 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Gretchen says A2 is perched near Glenn's house. Now to find Samson. She found him! He is perched there also. They really are a sweet couple. SED's to all of you!
Apr 22, 7:10 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): I guess they aren't ready for bed! Samson and A2 are both at the nest.
Apr 22, 7:30 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): These two are too much! They came back did some nestorations and shared a few beak kisses along with some bickering. They moved to the Sunset branch and both flew. Samson first at 8:25 and A2 followed at 8:26. SED's again
Apr 22, 8:01 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): MONDAY TUCK: Sure enough at dark they both flew from the nest back near the LYT across from Glenn's. They were swapping branches and vocalizing so sweetly. I'm sure they are there for the night and likely back to the nest in the morning. If you haven't seen the quick video of A2 snapping a nest tree branch and making her round-about flight to the nest, pls ck it out as posted above by aka_AEF. SED Y'all
Apr 22, 9:21 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Please enjoy this beautiful photo taken this evening by our ground crew of Samson & A2 in the Lumber Yard Tree (LYT), before they flew back to the nest in the Hamlet! https://www.flickr.com/photos/94664847@ ... res/8D9E8r

Running very late today ... A2 spent the night and Samson came in this morning to join her. They are not there now. Reports from last eve and updates till now from AEF MODS:

Apr 23, 8:07 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): TUESDAY TUCK: Well the "Love Birds" seem to choose to roost solo tonight! A2 is fully tucked on Cam 2, and we left Samson perched over by the LTY at dark. No doubt they will team up in the morning, and most likely at the nest. Enjoy your evening and SED everyone!
Apr 24, 4:15 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Good morning Hamlet! As of 5 am A2 is still on Sunset Branch doing her preening and hollering for Samson...squawk squawk! I'll look around and see if I spot him.
Apr 24, 4:23 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): It seems Samson is stiill over at Glenn's waiting for first light.
Apr 24, 4:53 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Please join us for chat 9 am EST!
Apr 24, 5:26 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 6:25 am Samson arrives at the nest!
Apr 24, 6:13 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 7 am Samson is perched on Wallenda while A2 has apparently gone fishing or acquiring more sticks
Apr 24, 6:46 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Samson is off and running at 7:44 am...hopefully they will both return before chat!

Nobody home! Wonder how the GA and the injured eagle are doing and where they might be tonight ... I hope all is well with them too ... :spring1:

Apr 24, 8:22 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY TUCK: Hmm. . .I guess we got a blank tonight! No Samson or A2 at the nest or over by the LYT. It's that time of the season where they boogie out of the Hamlet. It is already? Let's hope for a returnee in the morning. In lieu of the absence and heartbreak of Romeo and Juliet, we have been blessed with an eagle or more each day at the nest since they departed around Christmas. More days than not it's been Samson and A2. It's been an unusual nesting season for many eagle nests.

:taz: Samson was here for about 20 minutes today, but was being harassed by large raptor:

May 22, 1:04 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): 2:03, Samson arrives at the nest, and seems to be vocalizing at someone chasing him!
May 22, 1:15 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Samson flew to Lookout Point at 2:12, and is expressing many vocals. Some other bird seems to be bothering him!
May 22, 1:26 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Samson flew to the nest at 2:19, and there seems to be possibly a vulture or another large raptor that is bothering him, lots of vocals, and another bird could be seen soaring above on cam 3. Samson flew off at 2:24!
