:spring1: Samson and A2 are both in the tree tonight and can be seen on all 3 cams right now!! Here's the "Tuck-In":

Apr 10, 8:36 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY TUCK: Your ground crew left the nest tonight at 8:03pm, and sure enough Samson and A2 arrive soon after. It's quite clear they will roost at the nest tonight and were fully tucked a bit ago. They hear sounds below which sound like deer walking below the nest. SED Samson and A2 and everyone!

Nobody on the tree tonight. "Tuck-In" report:

Apr 11, 7:46 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): THURSDAY TUCK: Samson and A2 arrived at the nest with vocals and stayed for a short time. Then they flew over to the LYT area. We found one perched at the top of the LYT and then flew to be more disguised in a tall pine, and likely roosting there for the night. I'm sure the other one was nearby, but it was getting too dark to locate. Who knows. . .they may fly back to the nest tonight! Please join us in the morning for chat at 9am! SED Y'all

:spring1: Samson is home now. Cam 1 has been restored since these updates from the mods:

Apr 12, 9:03 AM
babyhawk_AEF (Moderator): Sub adult last seen 3/26/2019 leaving @9:00 am. Visitor aka Guardian Angel last seen 4/4/2019 leaving @1210 pm. Stay safe out there beautiful eagles.
Apr 12, 9:39 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 10:29 am Samson arrives at the nest and is perched on Sunset Branch.
Apr 12, 10:27 AM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): Cam 1 needs some tweaking, so the cam is down temporarily while our technicians do some diagnostics.
Apr 12, 11:34 AM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Good Friday afternoon, faithful Hamlet viewers! Our sweet Samson continues his visit on the Sunset branch, doing a little preening, and enjoying a bit of wind surfing on this breezy day.
Apr 12, 11:59 AM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): And at 12:56, Samson flew off...then returned to the nest at 12:59 with a nice fish! Fast fishing, Samson, way to go!
Apr 12, 12:28 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Samson finished the entire fish at 1:23, and flew to Lookout Point to relax after his lunch, doing a little feaking to clean his beak!

Nobody on the nest tonight. Mod updates and "Tuck In":

Apr 12, 4:27 PM
aka_AEF (Moderator): Good afternoon Hamlet family! We are so blessed that Samson has graced us with his presence for so long today!! He decided he had perched enough and flew at 5:25.
Apr 12, 6:51 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Good evening everyone! Samson and A2 have arrived at 7:50.
Apr 12, 7:08 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Off they go! A2 first and Samson follows at 8:07.
Apr 12, 7:16 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): It was nice of them to visit this Friday night. SED"s to all of you!
Apr 12, 7:50 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): FRIDAY TUCK: What a great view seeing Samson and A2 flying to the nest in unison. They later flew but those "tuckees" can't always fool the "tuckers". We found one perched on the LTY and soon flew over to the other one (complete with sweet vocals) in a tall pine where they will likely roost for the night. Glenn will likely see them at dawn before they take off. So blessed to still have eagles every day in spite of our heavy hearts. Prayers remain for Romeo and Juliet's return. Enjoy the weekend show!

No eagles at nest tree so far this morning. AEF MOD shared pics of visiting Yellow-Bellied Flycatcher in the hamlet this morning:

And this photo is of Samson and A2 from Glenn:

Apr 13, 6:12 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Photo sent by Glenn of our eagles perched for sunrise: https://flic.kr/p/TnQtAE
Apr 13, 6:39 AM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): Glenn reported they roosted across the street from his house not far from the LYT in the tall pine. One moved to the dead tree (as seen above in the pic), and they both flew in the ICW direction about 7:06am. Enjoy today!

:buzzybee: No eagles today nor tonight!

Apr 13, 7:44 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): SATURDAY TUCK: It was a quiet day in the Hamlet today without an eagle in sight! Two were spotted over near the ocean perched together, but there's no way to ID them from the distance. Everyday they are seen at the nest is a gift. Enjoy the weekend! SED

gretchen_AEF (Admin): Cam 1 is having internal hardware malfunctions. The stream will be in and out until we can replace cam 1 during the off season. Thankfully we have Cam 2&3 views. Thank you for your patience.
Apr 14, 8:56 AM
suncats_AEF (Moderator): Good morning Hamlet watchers! Samson has joined us on the Wallenda Branch at 9:55 am
Apr 14, 9:57 AM
suncats_AEF (Moderator): 10:54 am Samson hops to the nest, moves a stick or two around, then hops up to Sunset Branch on this very windy day!
Apr 14, 10:17 AM
suncats_AEF (Moderator): 11:16 am Samson looked interested in something, or maybe he decided to go catch a fish. He flew from the nest. Hopefully he will bring a big fish back with him!

Nobody in the tree tonight, I believe they have some bad weather coming in.

Apr 14, 7:04 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Gretchen reports torrential rain approaching the Hamlet area so we believe our eagles are tucked safely where they go to stay safe and dry. SED's to all and be safe wherever you are!
Apr 14, 7:05 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): We will be watching for any updates should they decide to come to the nest.
Apr 14, 7:49 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): SUNDAY TUCK: Samson arrived this afternoon with a hearty fish that he devoured and perched it off at length (lol). He joined chat for a bit and flew. Weather is questionable tonight, so he's likely roosting in a more secluded spot. SED Y'all

Nobody on the tree! But, Samson and A2 were here earlier and are together tonight!

Apr 15, 8:38 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): MONDAY TUCK: Samson joined the chatters this morning and returned this afternoon with one large catfish! His crop was proof-positive! A2 arrived this evening as well. They were both perched at the nest with 3 deer below (one is pg), then they flew, and we found them over near the LTY where they seem to find this as their favored roosting spot. They can see the nest from the tall pine they roost in not far from the nest. SED Y'all

:buzzybee: Nobody on the tree tonight. Here's a video today by EAGLESPIRIT CYN/AEF "Samson Gets His Mackerel" from today. Copyright American Eagle Foundation EAGLES.ORG 2019.

:spring1:

Apr 16, 8:01 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): TUESDAY TUCK: Ground Crew, Glenn, reported that Samson and A2 arrived at a tall pine by the LYT at 8:10pm. It was pretty dark (rascals). According to Glenn they were makinge all kinds of noise talking to each other when they arrived together. . .so cute. We are thrilled we know where they are roosting. I would bet they will be at the nest in the morning, and hopefully hang around for chat. SED Y'all

This is from last eve and nobody spent the night here.

Apr 17, 8:21 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY TUCK: I guess tonight was a repeat of last night! Watching for Samson & A2 over by the LYT, I was just leaving at 8:20pm, as it was getting quite dark. Sure enough like last night they came flying in and landing with vocals. They are finding their roosting place, no doubt. . .all tucked! Samson spent considerable time at the nest today, and again brought in a fish this afternoon. SED Y'all

jd_AEF (Moderator): Good morning Hamlet! It seems Samson and A2 are in the nest tree this morning, arriving around 5 am in the light of the nearly full moon. I am seeing A2 on Wallenda branches. Will see if I can locate Samson in one of his hiding places.
Apr 18, 5:20 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Aha! Found Samson hiding down in his spot on the sleep branches.
Apr 18, 5:35 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): A2 can be seen on cam one, Samson on Cam 2
Apr 18, 5:40 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Full moon is tomorrow night, called the Pink Moon. Another name is the Fish moon which Samson would likely prefer
Apr 18, 6:07 AM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Good morning everyone! Samson amd A2 are perched on the Sunset Branches. A2 is quite vocal this morning probably hungry.
Apr 18, 6:08 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Early morning photos of A2 and Samson in the nest tree: https://www.flickr.com/photos/94664847@ ... res/6qb6z2

The following are mod reports and pics from last evening on the 18th and so far this morning on the 19th. Samson is currently on the tree.

Apr 18, 6:26 PM
LisaS_AEF (Moderator): Samson arrived at the nest just before the end of chat at 6:56 pm. Remained perched and preened a bit and then took off 7:22 pm.
Apr 18, 7:19 PM
LisaS_AEF (Moderator): 8:12 pm Samson returns and takes off again at 8:15 pm. He is either testing the tracking skills of the cam op and Gretchen tucking or testing bright moon flight skills. Either way we have not lost him yet. Stay tune for tuck report.
Apr 18, 8:19 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): THURSDAY TUCK: We stayed at Glenns tonight waiting for Samson and/or A2 to arrive, as they have been there on a regular basis at dusk (or dark) lately. Sure enough Samson flew in at 8:10pm and perched briefly. Then he flew back to the nest for a time. Then he was back and landed near the LYT on a measly dead tree. There was no sign of A2 arriving, so we left at 8:25pm. However, with that incredible full pink moon, they can surely fly during the night. SED Y'all
Apr 19, 4:19 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Good morning Hamlet! As of 5 am no "sneakers" in the nest tree this morning. They must be in a sheltered place with that nest rocking in the breezes a bit this morning.
Apr 19, 4:21 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Today's forecast is for mostly cloudy weather with thunderstorms expected this afternoon. Temps mid 70's to mid 80's and likely gusty winds 10-20 mph. Please join us for chat at 9 am EST.
Apr 19, 5:01 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): The full pink moon is peeking through the clouds this morning on cam one.
Apr 19, 5:35 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 6:34 am Samson is in the nest..just arrived to do his nestorations
Apr 19, 5:55 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Photos of Samson watching for his A2 to arrive: https://www.flickr.com/photos/94664847@ ... res/vD6A89
Apr 19, 6:18 AM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Good morning! Samson is perched on the Sunset branch on cam 2.
