The babe is back in the nest. They are being mum as to who if anyone flew in, but my guess is Samson who possibly detoured when he realized he had company! Surely if it were A2, you would think she would take advantage of an opportunity to give someone a piece of her mind!! :teehee:

I see your post Shep. That is probably what they are doing ... comparing photos from last year or year before and why they are not making comments on anything.

This guy appears a year younger than the January sub
I'll go with 3 yr old - usually age 2 we dont see white - ?
I have not heard any vocal from him but chat did last nite

Obviously A2 has arrived!! OMG! No it's Samson!! With all that screeching, I thought sure it would be her! :teehee:

The poor baby flew! I would too. That's the most aggresive sounding that I have ever heard Samson!

Samson is home for the night. Saw where he brought a 2nd fish to the nest to eat today.

I check this cam occasionally and it is nice to see that Samson is still here. It will be interesting to see the dynamics six months from now, when nesting season gets underway. Hopefully, he will stay if his parents fail to return. How nice it would be for one of their offspring to nest here and carry on their legacy. :15heartbeat:

He has not been willing to fight for the nest.

I don't agree. Samson suffered territorial beak injuries on two occasions. He did fight. At this point, there is no need for him to battle and risk injury or death. They are not nesting. Hormonal levels are dropping. Anything can happen in the next six months and I am not putting much stock in those eagles visiting this nest until we get closer to Sept. At that point, we'll see who is strong enough to hold the territory. Time will tell.

Wow, Samson stayed till 11:30 this morning and returned once in the late afternoon for a short visit! And A2 spent awhile on the nest this afternoon!! But, they haven't done so together ... yet!! :12val:

Saw on chat this eve that A2 flew in a 2nd time before chat started. ... she flew away shortly after. The mod said she flew in with a stick, but I am unsure which visit they meant today. Also, they could hear mating in the distance!
