:1val: Nobody came to the tree tonight. A2 ended up staying until almost 2pm even though Samson had flown away much earlier. Samson did show up a couple more times in the late afternoon.

cyn_AEF (Admin): Yes Samson and Gabby, I mean A2 is at the nest! on Wallenda and Samson on the overhang branch!

11:20 CST - Samson has been in a couple times this morning ... once with a fish. A2 was gone when I came in.

:15val: Maybe Samson had spotted this one in the neighborhood when he caught my attention above giving someone the "eagle eye"!!

Feb 21, 4:48 PM
otd_AEF (Moderator): An eagle arrived at nest at 5:35, perched and then flew at 5:40. Was not Samson or A2.

(I've always liked the name Gabby.)

:14val: There is a bird in the tree. When I went in you could only see it's eye's glowing as it's head bobbed and it has since moved closer to the nest and you can catch a glimpse of it once in awhile. They were not scanning to ID when I left.

:teehee: Interesting that they mentioned an owl in this report last eve, because the thought that went through my mind then when I saw this bird in the tree was ... this looks like an owl ... as the glowing eyes seemed further apart than I'm used to seeing ... and the "bobbing head" reminded me of those "bobble head dogs" people used to place on the dash of their cars or just like an owl does that circular motion with their head when they are initially focusing on something. That's why I used the word bird above in my post, instead of eagle as I was unsure! Hahahahahaha!! But, they are ID'ing as an eagle. :4val:

LisaS_AEF (Moderator): The Hamlet keep me on my toes this evening.
We had a great chat with an Eagle present. Then at the end of chat it was time for hide and seek.
Yes, my Cams LOST. Then for most of the evening the Eagle was perched visible on cam 3. Around 9:30 pm we heard vocals and an owl off in the distance. At 9:37 pm Eagle took off and we heard vocals again. Feels like it should be a full moon this evening. We will keep an eye out to see if there is a return visit. SED's!

I removed the post I made @ 6:12 here as it was meant for another site. Sorry for the confusion to anyone that may have read that post this morning.

:12val: Oops, we've got another one right now!!

Feb 22, 3:43 PM
aka_AEF (Moderator): Good afternoon Hamlet family! Hearing vocals at 3:03 and again at 3:12. Maybe they will come to the nest! A young adult visitor showed up on the Wallenda Branches at 3:45 and A2 flies in at 3:48. Both vocalizing at something over head. The visitor flies to the nest then away at 3:51. A2 appeared to be unhappy with the visitor. She appears more at ease now. A2 flew at 4:12. The visitor returns at 4:39 and perches on Sunset Branch.

:teehee: Wonder if A2 will fly in 1st thing in the morning to run him off ...

Feb 22, 8:26 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): FRIDAY Tuck-In: Well, we have another visiting young adult eagle to the nest today. We believe the eagle that is roosting at the nest tonight is the same one that arrived this afternoon to A2's displeasure. She made it loud and clear she didn't want the eagle around. The eagle at this time is in good view on Cam 2 and directly to the left of the IR glare on Cam 3 (full screen on both is best). It's a peaceful night in the Hamlet. SED y'all

:7val: Thanks Loza!! This one has been in and out multiple, multiple, times since the start of this day. I don't believe I have ever seen this many visits by a visitor in 1 day. Eventually, A2 took notice and gave her 2 cents!! :10val:

Feb 23, 5:18 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): And the visitor returns at 6:16 with very loud vocals!
Feb 23, 5:36 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): A2 has arrived at 6:17, and is not happy about the visitor being here. A2 is currently on cam 1 in the nest guarding it, and visitor is on the Sunset Branch on cam 2. Lots of vocals!!
Feb 23, 5:47 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Quite a few vocals were exchanged between A2 defending the nest, and the new visitor. The visitor flew to the nest for a second with A2 there, both seemed to be tracking another bird above, and after more loud vocals, the new visitor flew off at 6:41, and A2 flew off at 6:42.
Feb 23, 5:52 PM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): The new visitor really wants to sleep here again tonight, lol, so has returned at 6:47 and is perched on the Wallenda Branches!
