:1val: Jules has not returned from her fledge as yet. Samson and Gabby are across the street. Romy is lying on the nest asleep. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 7:50 PM
SATURDAY TUCK-IN: Romy is holding down the fort tonight. Either Samson or Gabby flew in briefly at 8:17pm (it was too dark and quick to determine which one) and flew across the street to the ET and was greeted by mate with vocals. We tucked Samson and Gabby both in at the ET. It's very likely one may fly back to the nest tonight. If not, Romy is just fine. It's still gusty winds in the Hamlet and rain is expected tomorrow. We wish all our moms out there a very special Mother's Day! SED to all

Fish Delivery today: 3:24 pm by Samson

:1val: It is unknown where Samson and Gabby are tonight. Jules has not returned from her fledge. Romy is asleep next to his stick he has been playing with today. The Tuck:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 9:03 PM
SUNDAY TUCK IN: It looks like Romy is solo again tonight in the nest. He's fully tucked by his vertical stick placement. It's apparent mom and dad are scarce lately encouraging him to progress. However, Romy will progress in his time, and he will soon be perching. We didn't see mom or dad tonight, but they seem to fly the dark skies quite well and may be roosting close by. We haven't spotted Jules since Thurs mid-morning. She will most likely yet return to the nest, but finding her way in the wild now. Samson delivered a nice fish for Romy this afternoon. SED to our Hamlets and to all!

MONDAY TUCK-IN: We were called on a mission as a person in the nest area saw a "young eagle" tonight. We quickly went over to check it out hoping to see Jules. Come to find out it was an osprey. People often mistake osprey for eagles. In hindsight if it was Jules, we believe she would have come to the nest. She may likely be out learning the ropes from the juvenile that has visited the nest. We've seen that in the past. We found Samson perched at the LYT. No sign of Gabby, but she likely landed in the Hamlet somewhere after we left. All is well. The parents did today what they are supposed to do at this point....deliver fish until their young is able. SED to all!

MONDAY TUCK-IN: Romy did his own tucking tonight and has been calm in the nest. He enjoyed a fish delivered by dad earlier chittering away like he does. He gave us a show today, as he progressed and perched at length on the Sunset branch (video posted above). We still haven't spotted Jules yet. She's earned her wings and taking advantage of it. We would love to see her back at the nest, but we have no concerns. We didn't spot Samson or Gabby tonight, but we know they are in the area. We saw them perched together this afternoon off-site closer to the ocean. All is well. SED to all and to all a good night!

:1val: Romy is lying on the nest asleep and I do not see Samson or Gabby tonight. Jules has not returned from fledge. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

WEDNESDAY TUCK-IN: What a treat for Romy today with dad delivering fish after fish and spending the evening at the nest. Then mom comes flying in about 8:15pm. Both mom and dad soon flew off heading towards the ET. Sure enough that's where they were......roosting tonight across the street from Romy. SED to all!

:1val: Romy is lying on the nest asleep with his head tucked. He turned 12 weeks old at midnight EDT. Jules has not returned from her fledge. Samson is across the street and it is unknown where Gabby is tonight. The admin reports she did not come to the nest today. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 8:52 PM
THURSDAY TUCK-IN: Romy advanced today and really got some air even flying across the nest landing on the Sunset Branch this morning. He is certainly building strength in both his legs and wings. He's ready to fly but might not yet know it! We didn't see Gabby at the nest today but Samson was there in the morning and this evening. He flew about 8pm across the street to the Evening Tree (ET) and tucked at 8:20. Tomorrow Romy will be 12 wks! SED to all!

babyhawk_AEF#9650 Today at 10:08 PM
Fish delivered by Samson today @11:52 am. Romy self-fed from 11:54 am - 12:30 pm. Nice crop afterwards!

:shock At 5:49 this morning Romy was perched on the rails preening when a Barred Owl cried out and flew across the nest smacking Romy in the face. It caught him off guard and he alerted. The owl came back and may have landed below the nest or flew by as Romy threw his wings out at it, then continued to alert. There is a video of the incident at the site.

:1val: Gabby was not seen again today. Jules has not returned from her fledge. Romy is gaining skill and strength and currently is lying on the nest asleep. Samson is spending the night on the nest tree. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 8:14 PM
FRIDAY TUCK-IN: Whoa.....what a day for Romy! He was perched today more than in the nest. He has shown great strength and coordination on the branch, as he went back and forth usually to his favored Sunset Branch enjoying the Hamlet views at a greater height. Dad was faithful in delivering a number of fish to fuel Romy's engine. We didn't see Gabby today nor was Jules seen. Time will tell when they return. In the meantime, Romy is delivering the show and stealing hearts as dad roosts at home tonight with Romy! SED to all!

babyhawk_AEF#9650 Today at 10:27 PM
3 Fish deliveries today from Samson - to celebrate Romy's 12 week Hatch Day! ---> 7:07 am, 7:02 pm & 8:19 pm.

Feedings today: 7:09 am - 7:36 am (Romy self-feeds), 7:03 pm - 7:10 pm (Romy self-feeds) & 8:20 pm - 8:39 pm (Romy self-feeds, Samson feeds Romy then Romy ends the feeding with eating the tail)

:1val: Gabby is still gone and Jules has not returned from her fledge. Samson left this morning and did not come back till this eve, but he left again and is not on the tree tonight. He is probably across the street as I just heard vocals from him in the near distance. There were no return vocals from Gabby. The LRC is down. A Barred Owl hit Romy on his back almost between the shoulders while he was preening at 11:10 tonight. He is okay and there is a video at the site of incident. No fish were brought to the nest today for Romy. One of the mods said he did some crop drops.

:dancingegg: Romy fledged at 6:52 am!! He returned to the nest tree within about 5 minutes! He took off again later on and has yet to return.

Edit to add:

Samson came in with a headless fish at 10:26, but Romy has not returned from his 2nd flight. Eventually Samson ate the rest of the fish. He remains on the nest tree at 12:25.

Romy returned to the nest at 12:27 per the 4K cam. Samson is still here and shortly Romy went up to a branch. He still has not eaten, then back down to rest a bit on the nest. A few minutes ago it's back to a branch. I believe Samson is still here, because I can hear him calling at intervals, but a cam is not focused on him at the minute as I leave at 1:56 EDT. Nope, that's Romy calling for FOOD!! Samson flew at 1:38! I really hope he brings him a fish.

:1val: After his fledge day, Romy is home and lying on the nest asleep with his head tucked! He was not home when Samson delivered a fish for him earlier today, so has not eaten the last 2 days. I think Gabby has not been seen since Thursday evening at the nest nor heard since Friday morning in the Hamlet. Jules has not returned since her fledge over 10 1/2 days ago. It is unknown where Samson is tonight. The Tuck:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 8:43 PM
SUNDAY TUCK-IN: What a banner day for Romy! He made his first short flight to Lookout Point (LOP) and then nothing was stopping him! He built his courage up and off he flew. Within about 8 minutes he was back at the nest. He soon flew again and was gone longer, but he returned. In the meantime while Romy was out flying the skies, dad brought him a fish. Unfortunately Romy missed out, and dad finally ate it waiting for his return. They perched at length together at the nest, as Romy yipped away demanding food with extreme displeasure. Samson later flew and was seen at dusk at the ET, but then he flew. Romy is fully tucked and safe back home in the nest. It's most certain dad will deliver breakfish in the morning. Until then we TTE! SED to all

:1val: I don't know where Samson is tonight as I don't think the ground crew was out. Gabby has not returned ... I hope she hasn't left for the season and is alright wherever she may be! Jules has not returned from her fledge. Romy was lying on the nest asleep, but now he's standing on the nest asleep.

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 8:45 PM
MONDAY TUCK-IN: Another banner day for Romy today! He didn't do a lot of flying, but he scored 2 fish deliveries and is sporting a honkin' crop! The morning started off with a visiting Juvie. It wasn't Jules, and this one wanted to be friends with Romy! He wouldn't have anything to do with it, as the nest is HIS and NOTHING is welcome except a food delivery! Tomorrow will be quite warm, but likely with a full tummy Romy will explore the area more. Lately he's been the star of the show. SED to all and be safe out there!
