news from CROW

It's has been a week since Ozzie has been moved to the large flight enclosure and he continues to fly and build his strength. At this time, we are giving him his privacy to reduce stress and will provide a more in-depth update next week. We will supply video footage of Ozzie later this week. Below is a picture of Ozzie perching in the large flight enclosure.

From what CROW has said is that the flight cage does have corners, like a J shape.

in CROW - Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife

Ozzie received a physical yesterday after being in the large flight enclosure for almost three weeks.
During the physical, a federal ID band was placed on Ozzie’s right leg.
If Ozzie becomes injured in the future, he will be able to be identified.

Thanks! One of the things I have learned by volunteering in rehab, is that we rehabbers do not have permits to band. I am glad CROW was able to get this done. I only want to ID Ozzie when he comes into the nest with a big fish.

But it will be nice if we can be 100% sure it is him in the nest.

Ozzie was able to help out another eagle in need @ CROW - Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife,

Inc.! How awesome is that?!

Info and 4 photo :

Ozzie is officially a blood donor! :5val:

Yesterday, CROW received an eaglet from St.
James City that was found on the ground and in a week physical state.
The eaglet needed a blood transfusion and Ozzie came to the rescue.
If not for the transfusion, the eaglet probably would not have made it through the night.
Ozzie is doing well after the transfusion and the eaglet is currently in guarded condition.
This transfusion will not impede Ozzie's release in the near future
