Essec09: Good morning. Hope everyone enjoyed seeing the eagles on the nest tree this morning. Hopefully those moments in the nest tree will be more frequent as the days go by. Lots of questions about who Harriet was branch sharing with. Right now - we can only say it wasn't the Sub-Adult she has been seen with the past couple of days. There was no terminal band or dark feathers on the head of this eagle. Is it M15? Could be, but not sure.

Essec09: If anyone has any closeup photos of M15 during the time that Ozzie had returned to the nest, we would love for you to post them on SWFEC's Facebook page for comparisons. Enjoy your day!

There were some very tender moments (soft vocals, nestorations, possible beaking) on the nest this morning with Harriet and Huh?
It was NOT the sub-adult. Could it be FV/M15? Has he returned after healing from his scuffle with Oz?

From David Eppley's FB page, 1st shot: 9-20-15, 2nd shot: 10-08-15:

(Kind of reminds me of Eagles4kids nest last season - Taylor and Blair...)

M15 is BACK! After reviewing various photos & video, happy to report Harriet's summer companion returned to the nest area this morning for a short visit before both flew off.

Only time will tell what the future holds for this possible new pair. To WATCH LIVE: www.SWFLEagleCam.com

Eagle cam appears to be checking M15 for injuries and identifying traits right now! He does have a talon in the up position.

So apparently ... these eagles will lay low until they have recouped to top form ... no matter how long it takes (Ozzie) ... before they will return to their nest to maintain control ...

I am not surprised. They kept reporting an adult eagle sitting outside of nesting area when youngster and Harriet were at nest. He was just coasting and making sure area was secure for him and he was in top form.. I do not think sub adult poses a problem.

I have seen this with falcons. I did not say anything earlier as there were too many opinions out there in eagle land. and of course we have Eagles 4 kids as an example also.

we will all miss Ozzie but this guy certainly has earned his place here :loveheart2:

M15 was in the tree last night:

M15 Is Back~Took Us All By Happy Surprise 10-8-15
M15 has returned 15 days after we last saw him. In the darkness, it was thought to be the sub adult. But as we viewed this young eagle, familiarity told us it was M15. Harriet happily vocalized while M15 intently watches the area. You will hear me call M15 "SA" (sub adult) until I felt later that indeed M15 had returned. Great to have him back! The way of the eagle continues to unfold before our eyes. May we observe and learn - not judge or predict. heart emoticon Ozzie.

SWFEC MOD:

Update: The necropsy on Ozzie has been performed. UGA Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study confirmed that Ozzie's remains would be sent to the USFWS National Eagle Repository in Colorado in their next shipment.

Courting Eagle Style At The Nest Tree 10-09-15
Together Harriet and M15 vocalized, worked in the nest, touched and perched close to each other. These behaviors are all signs of bonding. The way of the eagle continues to unfold before our eyes. May we observe and learn - not judge or predict. Ozzie would want us to go forward with Harriet. Miss you, Ozzie.

M15 and Harriet perch together on the pole sharing vocalizations and closeness. It is precious how they perch and M15 'nibbles' at Harriet. The way of the eagle continues to unfold before our eyes. May we observe and learn - not judge or predict.

I have very little viewing time but just happened here at right time. 2 adult eagles on branches right now and they were in nest. They have done closeups.

So many rumors here ,so I tend not to listen, but they zoomed in and I see both with all talons in tact. I would not know M if he came up and bit me.

all I know is we have 2 adults here and that is what we need for young ones.

a few pictures coming
