Now that E15 has finally left the area, Wskrsnwings posted info about the end-of-season nest cleaning.

She included this picture of our beloved Stuffy :loveheart2:

Image
Her comments from yesterday:
"Cam maintenance was done at the nest today. Harriet & M15 were seen but E15 was not. Both E’s are hopefully enjoying their new life on their own, full tummies always and keen sights to survive that they learned from the best parents. Tonight is about Stuffy. I have been given guardianship of what was gathered from the ground under the nest tree today. Stuffy was such a big part of this season... arriving April 7th when Harriet mistook the toy as prey and brought it to the nest. Stuffy was a measuring stick for us as the E’s grew and a learning tool for the E’s as they began to tear and chew *and play* with their prey. When Stuffy fell from the nest we wondered if we would see him again. Yes, Stuffy remains, though beat up some after being mowed over. Some of Stuffy remains in the nest pasture but four pieces were found today, and he’s still Stuffy to me. Thank you Stuffy for being part of this amazing season. I will not be at the nest until next Monday. I don’t know when the cams will go live again. Keep checking everyone."

I remember the first time seeing Stuffy thinking it was a real squirrel.
And then realizing it was stuffed and wondering where in the heck it came from.

:dancingegg: Is this E15 returning at 1936 ... seems to be staying the night!! Sleeping with head tucked at 2056! :dancingegg:

Well, I'm not sure? Will check Hancock. Was also higher up on the tree a few minutes earlier ...

Yes, they are saying it is her!! I don't remember her having that many whitish splotches dispersed through her feathers.

Harriet and M15 may have a helper for season 9, whether they want one or not ... :teehee:

Previous visit was 1911 till about 1931 when she appeared to fly down to the nest. She came in crying for food. I did see her have a PS, but it was small.

:15heartbeat: Not sure how this is going to turn out. Harriet and M15 arrived to the tree alerting to E15's presence at 2150. They continued to alert at intervals. At 2152, E15 seemed to fly down to the nest or lower on the tree and vocal as if begging for food. Harriet flew at 2153. M15 is still there and E15 continues to beg for food it seems as M15 preens at 2223. May have wrong ID's on adults.

Oh my! It is a sign of the times. Reports of human adults moving back in with the parents and E15 is simply following the human lead.
