:15heartbeat: Harriet is on the nest and M15 is on the right side of the tree tonight. Plenty to eat for E15 today and E16 continues to work on getting out of that shell. :15heartbeat:

Earlier I could see the wing flapping from the egg but I haven't gotten a glimpse lately.

I am not sure it got anything to eat and now Harriet is hiding the kiddos.

:15heartbeat: Not that I saw. I was hoping it would get at least a couple bites. Gonna be tough with E15 wanting food too. Is it's butt out of the shell?

:flirty: If you get a chance, watch between 19:13 and 19:15 as M15 was up to his old tricks to get Harriet up where he could see his new chick! At 19:12 she raised a little and seemed to be allowing him a look from the rails, but that just didn't cut it with M15! I still remember his 1st season, when he went in the middle of the night to relieve her and she refused to get up and he got p o'd!! I'll look later to see if I can find that video.

Edit to add: Here is the video of M15 coming to the nest wanting to incubate at a little after 1:00 am which is a no-no. This was his first season with Harriet (2015/2016) and his 2nd egg had recently hatched. Harriet was not pleased. They bit and pecked at each other and she did cave in and let him do it a minute or two, but she got him off of them in the end. He showed his insolence and youth after she finally got him off the chicks, he went to the rails and pecked at them or something, but then he bit and pulled her tail feathers! :teehee:

Here's their official notice:

On the nest:Harriet
Welcome E16! Official hatch time 6:48:48pm. H was feeding E15 at 6:47, E16 lifted their head up rarin' to go. 6:56p feeding over. 7:11p M to the nest to see E16. 7:16p H brooding, M to the attic.

I saw part of a feeding with both parents at the nest. E15 got some and I am not sure about E16. Hope he got some before I started watching. Image

:1val: This is the hatch time for E16 who now has the record for the longest hatch at this nest. Previously, E15 held that record for about 2 1/2 days.

icecream247: It took E16 approximately 2 days, 11 hours, 42 minutes and 32 seconds (59 hours) to break completely out of the shell. This is day 37 for E16 hatch.
