Ive seen 2 peregrines here lately. One appears to be Ralphie, black banded. And the other has a very streaky tummy with white at their throat. That is not Alice, right?

I check this nest often, and activities are the usual for this time of year. Alice and Ralphie are both spending time at the nest box, either grooming, bonding or receiving food gifts…

Grand-daughter of Alice & Ralphie is now at University at Buffalo. From Peregrine Place:

"I’m deeply saddened to announce that Dixie, the unbanded matriarch at UB since 2012 is gone. We have no idea how or when she left. The current mating season has seemed different as Dixie usually was seen on her perch every day. That perch has lately been empty. On Sunday, Hickory, 25/AW, was bowing in the nestbox with a female 02/AB. Both wore black Canadian bands. The mystery was solved when Rochester’s Joyce Miller & Canada’s Kathy Majich offered the following info: the new female is a 4yo daughter of D’Arcy & Lucky. Her name is Tornado & she hatched at the Etobicoke nest in 2021. She’s also the granddaughter of the Statler’s Alice & Ralphie. Quite a few years ago, watchers Enrique, Michelle & myself rescued her mom D’Arcy when she came to ground after flying into the side of the Statler. Tornado is now a connection btwn the Statler & UB nestsites. As Hickory & Tornado are getting acquainted & strengthening their bond, let’s hope for a successful mating & hatching season."

On Facebook (Peregrine Place,) a watcher shared a video of the Statler nest which she felt showed 2 unbanded peregrines. Ralphie, the male resident here for several years is banded. Please keep an eye on this nest.
