SO COOL THAT YOU AND KIM BOTH GOT TO SEE THIS! AND LIKE BEV SAID, AT LEAST YOU GOT TO SEE BOTH RG AND TRINITY :-)

I DID WITNESS THE SNOWY OWL ON TOP OF 333 MARKET WHEN MOM WAS DIVE BOMBING IT YEARS AGO. LIKE NOW, IT WASN'T EVEN BREEDING SEASON, BUT MOM DIDN'T WANT THAT OWL NEAR ONE OF HER SPOTS, LOL! I FELT BAD FOR THE OWL, IT KEPT DUCKING. I GUESS EVENTUALLY MOM LEFT IT ALONE AND IT GOT AWAY. THE ROOF WAS CHECKED AND THERE WAS NO OWL UP THERE THE NEXT DAY :-)

OH MY GOSH!!! What a story Greg!! SOOO glad you saw it and Kim too. Also SO glad the Owl got away from Red Girl & Trinity! The Land fill IS a wonderful eating place for them and not far from where the Owl was. THAT deserves to be in the newspaper instead of all the Crime!

Gee, I haven't been able to check here in the last two days. See what you miss when life gets in the way!! LOL!

Well, maybe the Snowy Owl knew what was coming. We have 2" of snow at 1:00 P.M. and coming down fast.

I hope that Snowy made its way down to the Bombay Hook area. That would be a better place for it. :-)

I agree. If she does move down that way she'll have company. This is from the December 3, 2013 News Journal:

"State environmental officials believe there are at least five snowy owls in Delaware right now, and there could be as many as seven. There is one in the Port Penn area, another at Bombay Hook, one at Cape Henlopen State Park and two, possibly, at Delaware Seashore State Park."

The one that the falcons were mobbing in Wilmington probably was different from any of these.

I was on 495 today and looking around. That Landfill is not very far from the city and hoping HE/SHE would have stopped for a snack on her way wherever. Thanks Greg. I bet you can't get over seeing that wonderful "Gift" atop the Building there. I would be talking about it forever!! LOL!

The owl was perched on 1105 North Market Street, the tall concrete building that you see half a block away looking across 11th Street (northeast) from the Hotel Dupont. Kim's building is northeast across 12th Street from 1105. Her picture is looking back to the south; the Delaware Memorial Bridge is south-southeast of these downtown buildings.
