Thanks Bev....I just checked my recording...that was Dan....Lil hasn't been back since she flew from the ledge...

Nobody on the egg now...and its just about gonna be too dark to see when somebody returns...

Dan..

Now I wish I had saved all my recordings of Lil...I'm sure she's fine...but, it has been a strange, strange afternoon for her..with strange postures...

Thanks for the closeups, Cheryl..

I think she is just not ready or the egg is egg bound. that is painful for them

We will just remain positive.

She may not want to come in till absolutely necessary. As long as egg is staying at right temp. She will probably come in tonight

Peter and I have stayed at sites till dark and waited and waited.

I think that's Dan, too, SGB. Now I remember that I recognized Dan by his full hood. Joanne used to say that Lil looked like she had a bosom, but I don't know that that's the case this season. I posted this "how to tell the difference between the 2" in the nesting info at the beginning of this topic, so now that we're active here I'll bring it in for everyone to see.

HOW TO TELL DIAMOND LIL & DAPPER DAN APART:

Diamond Lil has a rosy colored breast plummage and is larger with a white area visible at all times behind the dark malar stripe, the dark feathers below the eye.

Dapper Dan has a whiter breast plummage, a full malar stripe that hides the white area behind it in most views (a full hood). He is also smaller.

Thanks for all the great catches, everyone!

Oh good...they are panning and somebody is eating on the ledge...I can't say I know who it is, though...they are currently defeathering...

OK...somebody returned, with prey..hopped down off the ledge...not sure where they went..Hopped back up on ledge, with prey, left....then some aerials...and then arrived back on the ledge, far right, with prey...and I'm almost positive that falcon #2 somehow arrived, on the ledge, far right and took prey from falcon #1 (who you really can't see in my vid)...

they never panned to the scrape, but I could tell they were trying to figure out if there were 2 falcons on the far right ledge...

I've got video of all of this, but not really sure you can see anything...I've had to isolate frames and lighten to figure this out...but might be worth it to see a "bullet" dive in the distance...

Somebody is now perched on the railing on the building across the street...I just hope there's not a 3rd falcon floating around there somewhere..

8:54am

She came in box and is in egg laying stance

I saw shadow of falcon way before it came in

I really jsut think, the on again off again, is jsut readiness for egg

You can see her low on bottom.

I do not pretend to know it all but I have seen this behavior with Miss Edmonton
