Ethel, they are SO adorable!! Every year I am in awe of how cute their little heads are. I would love to touch one!!!

Two feedings already by 7.00 A.M. I guess it is true about the" early bird getting the worm!!"

EDIT: They are keeping the other eggs warm. Glad the temps. are up too.

Just make sure CJ or RG aren't around if you try that, Faith! Otherwise, you could lose a finger (or whole hand)! :teehee:

CJ was babysitting the chicks while RG left, probably to stash the leftovers from breakfast. Then RG came back, they had a short discussion, and CJ left while RG took over.

I love to see how well coordinated and synchronized these two are in caring for their chicks.

Redwing and grackle heads on the sidewalk yesterday. Another grackle and feathers of something smaller this morning.

I've been hoping to see a video of how they got that first hatched cast aside chick back in with the eggs. Does anyone know if there is one?

Wow, more food. CJ has been busy! And now RG left. She's gonna wind up with a strained neck if she doesn't get a little closer to the chicks, but am sure they all go their share. And now CJ is there.
