We're adopting a wait and see attitude and last year we waited till spring to see him again.

Don't forget where the juvie went after he left the tower where we thought he was going to roost...He ended up on the wall of the Canton Club building...looking like a part of the facade...
Stout went after Mystic when she was on the Key Bank Building...she slyly looked back at him as he came at her...

As the season winds downs, going through some pics. This is from the day when Mystic was so annoyed with a Juvie for landing on the wrong roof.

Cheryl, is that the day you and Susan spent watching? Didn't that estimator guy show up walking around with his clipboard after I got there? I wonder if he was walking around there when she freaked out on the juvie... Glad the juvie moved!

Yes, that was dear little Ice - he loved to push his mom's buttons! And then when he did fly off, he went in the wrong direction. Two hours later Mystic went looking for him and brought him back with his brothers... :teehee:

No, Bev, Yesterday Matrix posted those pictures of the juvies during fledge week, during the first week of June. And then we got all nostalgic about watching the boys as they learned to fly... Sorry for the confusion - I WISH we still could see our boys each day! :girlluv:

Went up again this morning to see if there was any activity. Did see and hear Mystic and Maurice on the AEP tower...
From the echups going on it sounded like they are re affirming their pair bond...In the pics it appears he brought her prey...but...the catwalk blocks the view of her coming to get it...In a couple of pics he is posturing and one can see just a little bit of her showing through the center of the catwalk...
I am assuming she is beginning to moult now...
Also...Thought I saw the two boy's on a smokestack...however....when the said "falcons" mated...I had to guess again...LOL...and then when the sun came out and they held their wings out....I realized it was two vultures...not sure anyone wants to see that...but I'll put the pics on fb...After a while my camera battery went, as I forgot to charge it...but before I left...I caught some pics of one adult circling very high up above the AEP tower and heard more echups... but could not see, from the other still on the AEP tower.

and Catwoman...I say that about doves when I see them with one... :teehee:

but then I remember that all the birds live on the razors edge...

Maurice was as good as dead, if nature had it's way....He is only here/there to capture that picture because of kind hearted people....Had this been in his natural habitat....he'd have been long gone...And at any moment whether he is sleeping or especially...awake and flying....one tiny mistake...and it's all over...
Remember... Unity at Rochester...always comes to my mind....I was simply stunned at how that whole scenerio played out totally opposite of what I thought would happen...all because she made a tiny mistake at a time she shouldn't have....
Fate... I suppose...

Excellent point Matrix. Had it not been for a very kind, aware woman, a paramedic of all careers, Mo probably would have been a goner. He seems to lead the charmed life. I suspect we will be following him for many years, in spite of himself. Sub-adult finds a mature female. Female takes care of him the first year. Second year she gives him a bit more responsibility allowing him to sit on her eggs. He finally rises to the occasion and gets injured only to be saved by the best possible person. Nursed back to health by the best Vet. Makes a comeback after the Juvies disburse. He's leading a blessed life. If another male comes into the territory Mystic will probably save his tail feathers. He's one lucky guy. :girlyes:

Yep.. People too Catwoman!!

Cheryl...There is still along way to go till march...not neccesarily time wise...but there is a whole slew of adults out there looking for a nest site..I was so glad to see that he was on the tower top!! And the pics didn't come out...but he dived from where he was at with the hummer...after a robin...(disappearing of course behind the pesky building)... but robin evaded him....
Just not confident yet that he can go through molt and hunt with his wing...At least we know it's him with the patch of missing fathers and the iodine stained feathers!! LOL
We will see...Mystic herself could be ousted at anytime too...
I also noticed how they allowed those turkey vultures to remain on the smokestack...a couple weeks ago the vultures would have been sent packing...
I just have to remember they are more resourceful than I think...
We know why she sits up on her tower...If I was wanting to see trouble before it saw me...in that area...that's where i'd sit too!! LOL!
One other thing...Odd, but maybe not...when the lightning started that evening...he went into the CC cubby to roost...she stayed on the tower...Makes me Wonder if she had an eye on any remaining juvies...
