She's eating on the ledge (did she catch it or did Dan deliver) Dan is on the corner of mission...I did not see how the food arrived..

Here's' what I'm going to send to Yahoo forum:

0755 Cam pans. Falcon is on ledge

0758 Falcon jumps down to nest box, standing near eggs. There was a fly-by in the distance.

0759 Falcon takes flight from box

0803 Falcon is eating on ledge. Bird is on corner of 201 Mission (I’m going to assume Dan)

They had cam on the box once she left, so we do not know if he made prey delivery. I'm assuming he did. may have been mid air transfer, or she may have flew over, taken from him and returned.

She just chowed down that meal and took off 0812.

I was reading something and did not see when Dan left his perch on 201 Mission (building across street)

I know...so, does Dan think she's wanting to get on the eggs and so gives them up? Or is he just not sure of her yet and decides to get outta there quick..

I think he's afraid of her.

At least she seems protective of the eggs, but I think it's too late now...

I don't know Dan's history, but I believe he may have had a mate on the Bay Bridge prior. I think something happened to his mate after hatch. I started watching and found out about peregrine cams in my area in 2008 when they went to band/retrieve the chicks and found they had perished. There were no adults present, protecting the nest.

Next year - I think in 2009, Dan & Lil take up at PG&E which had not been used for a few years.

So, he may have already been through something like this and just needs to switch back to courtship mode... if that's possible?

I am just up. Have been so tired.

I am just going g to remain optimistic for this site( whether these eggs or new eggs) and see what unfolds . thanks for all the good coverage this morning. I feel like I have missed nothing

I saw DEF commented on gulf nest a few years ago also. the female there dug a big hole and this one seems to be digging also,(I remember saying she was going to dig a hole to china). the point is, yes, the eggs have been incubated hard but I believe it can be slowed down, but I am going to read further. I just seem to remember that . Regardless, lets see what happens. :girlluv:

Edit to add Louie got out real quick when new female came around also.

she had been sitting on ledge but I missed where she went

Back again chupping. I think a tad confused as to where her mate is.

Here's the answer regarding egg removal:

In this case, we wait and watch like good field biologists. Falcons are still present. Will they continue to incubate the eggs? Will the eggs survive current exposure? Will a new pair bond form and the nesting season start again with a new set of eggs? A little time will answer all of these questions. --glenn@scpbrg
