It's amazing how dark they get overnight. I don't remember them being this dark for banding.

Saw Niecey bring in that prey. It wasn't real big, but I think it was fresh.

Saw that second feeding, but didn't know it was another Oriole. Have been switching back and forth between here and Wilmington this morning. Red Girl's chicks are all sacked out in the nest box right now.

Parent brought in prey. I thought it was going pretty well, but they decided to leave with it.

Couldn't really see it but there was an intense feeding/food battle going on at the midway point on the ledge. It appeared that two of the chicks mainly watched while the other two screamed like crazy. At one point I saw Nicey taking time out to check out the window, then chicks chasing her down the ledge and she was hiding on the other side of the orange post. She is now on the stick. Oh, and I saw one of the chicks running like crazy back this way with a little scrap hanging from it's beak. I think people would pay to see this kind of entertainment, if they only knew.

Edit: can only see one chick right now and it is stading there beside the stick screaming at Niecey, who is still on the stick. Everybody else must have a scrap somewhere hiding out with it.

Agreed that's Lil Dad on your last picture, ljames. I saw that feeding a while ago also. Since there have been several different feedings this morning, I would assume not all were real hungry. I did see one chick in between the orange post and the edge of the ledge. Can see three at the moment, and don't know where #4 is.

Lil' Dad brings in prey, but Niecey is right behind him to feed the chicks in the scrape. The little one got some this time.

Then Lil' Dad comes back to check for leftovers ( he's so frugal, always making sure they make the most of what they have) he, then sneaks over to the stick.

OH! SGB! I agree with your remark about the ledge. Isn't it gross? I guess it is like a barn yard. LOL! They don't mind. Too bad the cleaning Fairies don't come in while the banding is going on!!!! LOL!!

Great coverage today. I am just getting here after a busy day with Bells and Choir. Had to have a nap too. Good to come here to get the details.

They are changing so fast. Can't wait for the Banding News.

MA, I was thinking the same thing about the ledge. I hope it doesn't rain on banding day, or it will be pretty slippery for the guys going out there.

Great pictures, etc today! Thanks to all for the coverage.
