Bird Cams Around the World

Mike and I here. We have a fledge. The Boss is on 37th floor E small Tera e. adults doing flybys and feeding him fledge food. Cam is going off.

OT, but must say RIP James Gandolfini

Bonnie & I were downtown from 10 a.m. to noon again and yep, Boss was on a 37th floor ledge on the NE corner of 101 Hudson! He stayed put while we were there, but got a great view of Athena feeding him in the sun (we'll see what Bonnie's pics show, but from watching it in her scope, the prey looked like a Meadowlark to me). Nice full crop afterward, and he was content to shade himself next to a parapet.

Adults did some more fly-bys and circled over the top of 101 Hudson a few times (heard them a few times echupping to each other, and they actually briefly perched next to each other on the ledge just east of the box!). We saw occasional sorties out towards the Shoprite that's NW of 101 Hudson (a favored hunting ground). Couldn't have asked for better weather today!

Bonnie...when you say cam is going off...do you mean for the season?

Yes, cam is going off for the season. It is very expensive and the birds will not be in that area very much anymore. But Mike and I will give you updates and pictures here. And here is Part I.


The Boss on the 37th floor NE small terrace. The only way he could have gotten here was to have taken a short fliight from the 41st floor NW corner.

Boss made it back to the nestbox this evening! Well, he was sitting and pancaking on the box's roof, then perched on the parapet behind it, then down to the ledge next to the box (seems to be his favorite evening perch).

Six briefly landed next to Athena by the box, but she took off shortly afterward:


After Boss chased Athena off the ledge, she returns to do the feeding.


Once Boss was full, she took the remains to the 37th floor ledge at the opposite (NW) corner of 101 Hudson.


Then flew up to her one of her favorite lookout posts at the very top, NW corner of 101.

Wanted to post these pics of Boss at the nextbox yesterday evening. He's on the parapet by the box in the 2nd pic, and went down to the ledge next to the box in the 3rd pic

Food delivery and he wasted not time getting it.

Sunday morning report: Two adults were on 10 Exchange, one on the spire and one on the 29th floor. A little after I arrived a very flappy bird flew from 10 Exchange to the west side of 101 Hudson. Didn't see it land, but it was at a height between the 37th - 39th floors. Later, one adult was on the top parapet of 101 Hudson. That bird took off to the west in a stoop. Then the second adult, probably Athena, came out from one of the west terraces and perched on the 39th west side terrace. So, the end result is that I saw three different birds. Pictures are not the greatest. I'll put them up later.
