Since when does Durand have that striped feather in her right wing :hmmmm
I never noticed that before (or completely forgot, also a good possibility)

Thank you Anow for the great information about the eggs - it relieves my mind.

thank you all for the great videos - I started watching the nest box just minutes after Durand had laid her egg - the same with her second egg - I must missed it my minutes as well.

I believe that it is Durand who is incubating right now. It might be a bit hard to tell who is who in the incubation position. Are there any good identifying marks on either of them to tell them apart? I believe that Spark has a bit of a darker and fuller "helmet", but other than that I find it somewhat difficult telling them apart when they are nesting like that.

Looks like they voided getting a pile of sow on the ledge, which is quite good. Hopefully it gets warmer and sunnier soon!

I assume this is Durand, but she appears to be quite cozy dozing off on the eggs. I wonder if she is starting incubation now!

Wish my phone would work properly so I could post photos!

I cannot tell you how pleased I am with Spark's performance. I have had the nest cam up and they have been taking turns. I'm so glad that Durand has a mate that she can rely on.

And 3 eggs. :eastercolor:

I don't want her to lay 5 though. That's a challenge for a new father.

Both alarm calling (don't know who started it)...Spark made a hasty exit from the box, then took off..

Durand stayed on the ledge...somebody flying in the distance..

Image

Durand flew from her end and landed in front of the box...

She's like the Princess and the Pea...took her 3 times to get comfy on the eggs..

I missed all the excitement - work sure gets in the way of bird watching It seems rather calm right now - thank goodness!! Thank you SGB for the details.

There is a hawk laying on her eggs in the OSU stadium - I thought it was a falcon at first - I was wrong - shucks!!
