Just watched one chick climb over another one to get back in the scrape. Don't know where the fourth one is at the moment. Could be sacked out by the stick, as that's where the shadow was earlier. And just saw a shadow moving from that area. Ljames, that's a feather volcano on the point that erupted from an earlier feeding this morning.

FOURTH CHICK IS PANCAKED BEHIND THE STICK ON THE LEDGE. LIL DAD ON THE STICK AND NIECEY WAS FLYING AROUND UPSET WHEN THAT GUY WENT IN HIS OFFICE A BIT AGO. I THINK LIL DAD ALREADY TOLD HER ABOUT THE BAD WINDOW! SHE WAS THEN SITTING RIGHT OUTSIDE THAT WINDOW STARING AT THE PEEPHOLE. I THINK SHE FEELS NOW THAT THE CHICKS ARE GETTING OUT THE SCRAPE AND THEY AREN'T AS SAFE NOW. THERE ARE TWO BIRDS ON THE WINDOWSILL TOO, MUST BE THEIR STASH PLACE NOW. ONE IS A CATBIRD IN THE SHADED CORNER AND THE OTHER A LITTLE BROWN BIRD, NOT SURE WHAT IT IS, IN THE OTHER CORNER.

ALL 4 WERE INSIDE THE SCRAPE, NIECEY ON THE SHIELD. OUT WENT YELLOW LEGS AND NOW ANOTHER!

I didn't realize that the new cameras could make such a difference in showing the chicks' leg colors--amazing! And speaking of cameras, I hope they will give us a wider angle soon, as our little ones are up and out the door these days.

NIECEY WENT IN THE SCRAPE AND LOOKED AROUND AND THEN WENT OVER TO THE ONE LAYING RIGHT OUTSIDE THE SCRAPE AND PECKED IT IN THE HEAD! I THINK SHE WANTS IT BACK IN THE SCRAPE AND WAS LOOKING AT IT TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO PICK IT UP AND PUT IT THERE! LOL! HOPING SHE DOESN'T TRY IT!

NIECEY WAS REALLY HANDLING ALL THIS SCREAMING IN HER FACE. THEN ONE OF THE BIG GIRLS CAME AT HER AND KEPT BITING AT HER WING. NIECEY LEFT NOW SO MAYBE SHE WILL GO TO THE WINDOWSILL AND BRING ONE OF THOSE BIRDS OVER FOR THEM :-)

SO GLAD I TUNED IN WHEN I DID JUST NOW. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER SEEN LIL DAD AND NIECEY FEEDING THE CHICKS TOGETHER. WHAT A TREAT TO SEE! :hapdance:

Awww...wish I hadn't missed both parents feeding the kids. Just love that! A few years ago when there were 5 chicks & they got to be this big, they both fed several times. :flirty:

Just one outside the scrape, but it is back in now.

I too would have loved to see both adults in the scrape feeding. Was out doing a little birding, and saw a beautiful male Kestrel sitting on a wire. :-)
