Just got a quick glance. Seems earlier.

I guess I'd better stay more closely tuned to Clara, she won't be far behind.

No kidding...

Didn't expect this until maybe early next week!

At least Clara is a dead giveaway as she will start sleeping on the ledge at night a day or two before laying.

Remarkable; First egg in 2011 was February 25, in 2012 it was 6 days earlier, February 19 and this year again 6 days earlier than last year, February 13. Hmmmmmm . . .

I think we will, and I think it's close.

I believe Lil was just in the nest with prey (typical Lil, but not normally during egg laying?.. we see that when she is closer to hatching). Maybe the new box is too "clean" for her taste!

LOL...And I thought that was Dan that came in with breakfast for Lil..

OK..what you don't see in the vid (because, I stopped recording~duh)

Somebody rushes in, feathers swirling about the head, then leaves immediately (I'm assuming Lil?)

Then the cam starts panning...

Have there been any intruder issues here?

That could have been Dan. Even after watching them on cam for several years, it's still hard for me to tell the difference the first couple of weeks when I only see one in the box. When both are there, I can tell by size and sometimes coloring.

When I tuned in, I thought it was Dan on the egg because he's normally pretty fidgety. He goes away for a short time, then someone (I thought maybe Lil), comes back to nest with food - weird at this time (again, egg laying?).

I didn't see the arrival of the 2nd bird. I saw the bird leave the box with food. When the cam moved and all of a sudden, I saw the one depart over the ledge, then the cam moved a little more and we see the other, I almost wondered if this was a different mate. (you caught this in your video).

As for intruder issues, none have been reported, but we do have a new pair I think just 6 blocks away that was reported at the end of last season. That's the pair where the building owner chose NOT to install a box. I think it was mentioned both of those birds were unbanded. So, maybe something is going on? Just not sure. There are dedicated watchers in San Francisco, but I think that doesn't really kick in until fledge watch. I know Glenn Nevill does lots of photography of this pair during the season, and sometimes off season. But nothing has been reported.

I don't know, but thought that whole exchange was a little weird.

I can't tell if she's trying to lay an egg or if she's already done it, or just protecting the one she has. Uh, this is Lil right?
