That is so cute...thanks Terka...

earlier today...Spark was a tad undecided about what to do...shield or incubate...and of course, Durand was keeping an eye on his decision...

Just watched Spark come in and settle down. He had those eggs under control in just a few seconds. He's a natural. :flirty:

Looks like these two are getting it together. And that video of last summer's banding in Toledo was awesome. The adults were totally ballistic.

I agree about Durand and Spark getting it together and about the Toledo banding video. All I could think of was that the banders needed something like a shark cage for protection . . . those wooden boards they used for protection seemed far too small for those determined falcons!

Glad to see these two are figuring out a system.
That video from Toledo is just crazy! Imagine having to make a custom falcon shield!

Well I do not blame them and they are so much in the open. They need to put up a little building there in off season ,

I have been wondering for quite some time now about the placement of the nest box.
Would it not be better if the box was turned a quarter, counter-clockwise? That way the falcons would have shade during the hottest hours and it would perhaps also give more shelter from the rain.

I'm with you DEF, it does look like they could adjust that box in some way to block out that sun a little. I'd be willing to contribute to add an awning or something.
