No cam today, not even a blank screen, just recent videos on Audubon Dakota. I think it was storming there yesterday and overnight, so that may be why.

Man there is a he** of a storm going on right now lightening & thunder, little ones are all huddled to the back wall and Miracle standing guard. Hope Annie is OK and dry somewhere. I try & look in in the morning, maybe someone else will get a look if I can't get there.

Hi - Just trying to help out a bit... Right now Marv is at the helm, perched at the nest box, while his siblings lounge out on the porch. They all seem calm, but I have not seen the parents, which is something I had to figure out... Annie is the tiercel, right? :teehee:
Ok, now Marv stepped off the nestbox edge, but Aurora. C00 moved right in. Stretching a leg, giving her wings several good flaps... Suddenly she jumped back in the nest box, and I could see a shadow pass overhead, probably one of the adults, but they don't come to the box...
10:06, One of the fuzzy ones is laying in the nestbox, yelling for mom to come feed her! Other babies are playing out on the porch. Marv picked up a walnut sized morsel of something, broke it in half and ate it. Then he had to bob his head several times to get it to "go down". I hope it was edible.... :girlcrazy:
Oh my- dad (I think) has arrived with food! Baby in nest box is snarfing down as much as dad can tear off - the other siblings aren't even there yet. Here come 2 more chicks. Ha - they are making so much noise my cat jumped off the chair and ran away!

Thanks so much for looking in on them Tsusan,
that storm looked like it was getting worse last night.
I had to get some sleep so I couldn't watch (not like there was anything I could do anyways) :teehee:

:loveshow: These little ones are So Cute ! Dad? came in with a big chunk of prey. Discovery and Marv came in closest to be fed - nar, nar, nar.... They started to slow down, and Aurora and Boston decided it was their turn - gobble gobble.... one even yanked a piece off themselves. Then all 4 huddled around, dad feverishly serving up more prey and then poof he was gone. The kids stood around for a bit, then Discovery crashed in the back corner of the box, and Boston strolled out on to the porch. Marv and Aurora were looking like they wanted dad to come back with more....
A few minutes later, Discovery still "out" in the corner, Marv sleeping at the front of the box, and Boston is on guard, but slooowly getting sleepier and sleepier.... Meanwhile Aurora seems to be picking at a bit of prey in the back of the box, then flaps her wings, startling Boston, who them drifts back to sleep. Aurora decides SHE needs to be up front. She steps on Discovery, waking her up and totally knocks poor Marvin out of the box! Now they are all walking around like - What just happened!! Checked in one more time-- 3 girls in the box, Boston and Discovery still trying to sleep, Aurora still picking at the nest box debris. Marvin says "That's It! Im going to the porch for some peace and quiet!! GIRLS!!!"

Im betting that's Boston sleeping in the front of the porch... She likes to snooze, doesn't she. I just saw Marv come around the porch, looking around, NOT stepping on his sister, then he went to the back of the porch, where Im sure its AURORA yelling for mom or dad to bring lunch! I got a little peek of Discovery hanging around back there too. The one up front sees something -- looking, looking... I hear an adult making that high pitched sound kee, kee kee. Little miss on the porch just goes back to sleep. Must not be lunch time. While I was posting (Boston)? I think has moved into the nest box. Does she know something the others don't? Is mom or dad coming soon with prey, and she wants first dibs? Well, an adult came and landed on the cam. Boston? made some quiet peeps, then stopped. One on the porch came up to see what was going on, then turned around and went back to sleep. Boston continues to make more quiet squeeks, like she wants adult to know she is hungry, but doesn't want her siblings to know that lunch might be coming.... Is there a train yard nearby? I think I hear train cars thumping on a track? Ah - I see Discovery is in the box now... Wise little girl....

:loveshow: Oh - Thanks for the picture, SGB. I believe the chick in front is Aurora, C00. And I just checked the cam, and three little juvies are all sacked out in the box, but one is still awake... watching and watching. C00... I guess Aurora feels she is the Big Sister to them all... (except when she steps on one...)

An evening visit to the nest box. At first, Aurora was all by herself in the nest box. I wondered if she had been playing nicely with her siblings... She settled in against (our) left side of the box and went almost directly to sleep. Next Boston decides to check the nest box. She seems to be looking for a scrap to eat, but isn't impressed... She comes and lays down right next to Aurora, but is quite alert, tracking something in the sky. Next Marv wanders into the box. He is looking actively for a scrap to eat. He seems to find something, but he has his back turned to the camera. Along comes Discovery. She almost cant get in as her bigger siblings are blocking any entry. She hops up and squiggles through a small opening beside Marv, which startles him, and he drops his scrap. Discovery jumps on the scrap, grabbing inher beak, and tried to head for a corner. Marv would have none of that. He pretty much knocked her over and grabbed his scrap back, eating it as quickly as he could. While he was eating, Discovery joined her sisters, laying in a row across the opening of the nest box. Marvin continued to shuffle around the box, looking for scraps... They all seem rather hungry, I hope there is another feeding before bedtime...

These 4 are crazy they can get out and roam around, and what do they do in the heat?
Yup that's right pack themselves in the box like sardines :duh:

It seems like the 2 big sisters are rather devoted to each other. Aurora was up front again, lazily looking around, when the clank, clank clank, of a train can be heard. Boston jumps up and comes to the front of the box beside Aurora, and they actively watch the train go by. stretching their necks out a bit when the rumbly engine goes by... Discovery is zonked out in the back, and Marvin is just hanging out... WOW Boston is really doing some heavy duty preening. Downy feathers floating around, some stuck to her beak. Discovery has woke up. Shes still facing the back of the box, but she's backing, backing toward the front... Tail come up and - POOP SHOOT! Nice shot, Discovery! None on your sisters, and none in the box! Boston is up front, looking around. This girl sure does not miss much.... Another train coming, Boston perks up - she like her trains too! And Kitten, they are all still in the box.
