Great news on the cam. The still photos look really clear and nice.

They did some panning & zooming with the roof cam earlier. It's now zoomed in tighter to the box (absolutely love the close-ups we get with this zoom). Here's the male on egg duty:

That'll also make it easier to see bling when they're moving (pretty sure I glimpsed a silver federal band on the female late this morning before they zoomed in).

While panning, they took a look out towards Manhattan. Tall building in the distance is the Empire State Building.

Got a glimpse of what looks like an auxiliary band on the male's left leg while he adjusted the eggs.

Don't know yet. Pretty sure I saw a silver federal band the other day, now just have to get a look at the other leg (Athena only has the silver federal band). Going to take alot of luck to get the right shot with just the stills. Hopefully the live video gets online soon.

The still cam got her legs! Don't know why the pic isn't as clear as it normally is, but you can kinda see the silver federal band on her right/back leg, and the bare left leg. That's our Athena (or another lady with just federal bling)!

Great news, live video is at long last online!
Link: http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/peregrinecam/jcp-live.htm

The latest Nestbox News entry (dated yesterday):

May 6, 2013 - Video is LIVE!
The problems and complexities of modern technology, servers, firewalls, etc., have been solved, and the streaming-live video is finally here for viewing!

We are excited to share with you the live view atop 101 Hudson Street in Jersey City. The peregrines have been diligently incubating their four eggs since April 11th, and we are looking forward to hatching next Monday or Tuesday. The streaming video is much more interesting to watch than the still pictures (which have been available since early April), and the action during and after hatching makes viewing fascinating and addictive for most of us!

The problems of this past month are a combination of old equipment (some of it in place since 2001), outdated software, and the restrictions of the state website. We are hoping that with viewer contributions, our partner, the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ, will be able to replace the system with a new digital one, and make the webcam available via an independent provider. We hope you'll consider partnering on this: watch for the Peregrine Webcam Campaign on the CWF website in the coming weeks. And thank you!!

That's great news about the live cam! I'll have to check it out tomorrow.

I'm having trouble getting the feed on my iMac. I know it doesn't work on the ipad.

I had no trouble getting the feed on my iMac. (I think it requires Flip4Mac, which I installed on my Mac several years ago.)

Finally got it. I had to upgrade my Flip4Mac and then restart the computer. Stupid simple thing to do.

Athena looks comfy in the rain.

While the tiercel is on egg duty this afternoon, he stood up long enough for the still cam to catch his auxiliary band! Don't know how to post an enlarged version of this (actually don't have anything on this computer that can physically enlarge it), but I could zoom in a lot and there's a 2 over a 6, both numbers sideways, which matches Six's band!

If anyone can save the pic to their computer and zoom in, you should be able to see it too (I added a bit of contrast and sharpening to it already).

Nice catch Mike. Thankfully these state bands are pretty plentiful, making ID considerably easier than just a federal band like the female.

In case you didn't see this article, nice effort from Ben's group. They have a very nice osprey cam.

Yep, I saw that. The Osprey cam is indeed awesome!

Only got a brief look at the eggs myself today. Solid thunderstorm rolled through between 3:30-4:30 this afternoon. Some pretty chilly weather forecast for the 2 projected hatch days next week (Monday night could have frost in the suburbs), but warming back to normal later in the week.
