Yes ljames, that's it. Good to see it sitting up and eating today. Thought I could see an enlarged crop towards the end. |

They are adjusting the camera. I wonder do they intend to still place that other chick in with the baby? I am amazed that the little chick recovered from what looked like certain death. I sure hope that it continues to thrive. It was so sad watching it but especially the mother so perplexed as to what to do for it yesterday. |

They may just leave it and put the other one in. The parents can easily care for two eyases. |

Athena'll be on alert for a bit, keeping an eye on the infamous door. She's taken right to her adopted offspring though Hopefully the "indigenous" chick can be built up to full strength. |

Sad and good news. I hope the little one can recover, maybe even to the point that it can return to it's parents. Fingers crossed. |

Probably too much to hope for the chick to be returned. It didn't end well with Legs. |

Well, I don't know what to think. This chick has been taken from it's siblings and is all alone now and the one hatched here is headed for a place where there is no parent. Maybe there was not enough food at the nest that this chick came from. Evidently, they didn't think the baby was improving enough to stay. I wonder if they watched the cam this morning. I sure hope that he improves and it would be wonderful to see him returned back to his parents. The new chick looks pretty comfy in there. |

The new chick is much bigger. Too much danger it would get all the food and the little one would get nothing. They did what is best. They don't want the pair to re clutch if the little one doesn't make it. This way they "fulfill" the nesting cycle. And it is better for the Sea Isle pair to raise 3 chicks instead of four. The new eyas will receive excellent care. Athena and Six are great parents. |

Legs passed away sometime last year. They said his heart was too weak and gave out. He'd become a handsome young falcon, and I'm sure the crowds at the shows loved him (as did his caretakers, Phung Luu and Jackie of Animal Behavior and Conservation Connections out of Delaware). Hopefully he inspired folks to care more about nature (maybe even plant the seed for a few kids to go into biology when they get older. Lots of kids at those shows). His life won't be in vain in that respect. |

Oh, forgot to mention in last post; our adopted chick got dinner around 5 p.m. (didn't catch a pic nor see it live, but it went on for quite a bit judging from the stills). Six has been standing guard just outside the box (he did spend some time with the chick after it ate). |

Another feeding occured just after 8 p.m. In-between feedings, one of the adults was perched at the entrance of the box (guessing they deemed the weather mild enough and the chick large enough to not require constant brooding). They made occasional trips inside to visit the chick. Athena resumed brooding after the 8 p.m. feeding. |
