:teehee: Nobody was here when I started this, so I thought I'd do it quickly before I go to bed...

and here I was trying to post at other so I hope this makes sense now

I t is hard when things have always gone well at your sites. But with falocns on the recovery, it is bound to happen. We may not like it, and i wish I could get them to sign a contract to lay hands off till end of season but....

so let us just remeber Lil :flirty: and her beauty :flirty: and try and just sit back and see what happens

I'm bringing mwplay's post over here..

From the posts I'm seeing, I get the impression they think she will/may take to the eggs.

I don't think so, based on De Mortel - same situation. Now, the hope is Dan doesn't spend 100 days incubating those eggs.

If Lil had remained, I'd have a different perspective.

If Dan gets back into courtship mode and they lay new eggs, she will probably then incubate, but it will be too late.

This may be the first time they've seen this happen here (in this area). Maybe if people bring up the will she take to the eggs, I'll add the tidbit about De Mortel, but may be told to keep it "on topic".

Remember Pittsburg Gulf? Tasha had laid two eggs, disappeared after a fight, courtship with the new female and all the time Louie kept rolling and lightly brooding the two eggs.
Finally the new female, Dori had her own clutch, in the same scrape, all 5 eggs were incubated and all five hatched!

Thanks DEF - I totally remember that year!

Sunrise...

As light was entering the nest box, I could see that someone was in there, moving around. I believe it was the falcon based on her movements. She was standing near the eggs for a minute or so, then went to the front of the box and took flight at 6:56AM.

Thanks SGB!

So, I don't know if Dan came back in last night to pull duty, or if he went to his night roosting spot.

The eggs looked like they were in formation, but that could have been from when he left yesterday.

0701, She was in the box, did some light scraping/pecking and took flight at 0704. She quickly returned to the ledge at 0704 where she did some vocalizing, light preening and is looking over her territory.

0716 Dan may be around because she's talking up a storm and doing a little bowing. She's now facing out, looking to her left. Maybe she's yelling at him for food?

I think so too...I think she's expecting full courtship from him..and is probably wondering why he hasn't brought breakfast to her...He's probably thinking she is taking care of the eggs...

Man, I sure wish they would remove the eggs..it might trigger courtship and maybe a new clutch...

Guess we will just watch and learn...I hope Lil is out there safe somewhere!!!

And Off she goes at 7:26

She's back & forth, that's for sure. Well, at least after her arrival back on ledge after roof disturbance, she went right to eggs, standing over them. It's like she knows that she should protect the eggs, but doesn't really know that she needs to incubate them?

Reminds me of Bev's new male at Weber and of FC when he first arrived. Having the experienced female really helped there.

Falcon is eating on ledge at 0803. I believe Dan is in distance of 201 Mission.
