Well I haven't seen a parent in there today, but it is definitely changing positions, so it is still alive.

Of course, all the other ones seemed to be fine to me too, right up until they died. I can't imagine that all but one is affected by whatever it is, but I sure hope this baby survives.

Chick has been fed about an hour ago, it's crop was extremely full after that. The weather is very nice here right now and we can't see what is going on outside. But I think a parent is close-by all the time.

I wonder if there was something genetically wrong with the three deceased chicks at AEB, maybe some birth defect. The surviving eyas seems to be doing quite well . . . :hmmmm

I don't know, DEF...all I have thought about during all of this was S2 and flies...I think its a shame that they didn't want to investigate these deaths...but, I'm finding more and more that curiosity/concern is missing. I know that money is an issue, but how hard is it to climb up there and remove a deceased chick.

In the USA, it seems so inconsistent...some biologist seem caught up in the permit red tape, others don't find it an issue...I personally would want to know...
