Obviously I don't watch 24/7 but there doesn't seem to be too much activity lately here.

SAD NEWS from Grün-Stadt-Zuerich on Facebook -

peregrine female Josephina died last Friday, February 22th 2013 by accident.
The falcon was caught in a snow fence/or grid while she was hunting.

Firemen and gamekeepers found the bird, but it was dead...

I know I'm grasping at straws here...but since she wasn't banded, are they sure it was her?

Skygirlblue, You are free to mail them at GSZ and ask for further information & photos...I do not.

The game is over and a new game begins for sweet Antonio...it's not too late for him in February.

Thanks Ferenz...I guess I'm just hoping its not her.. :sum7: but it probably is...she almost always was at the box when I checked...and though I don't have it open 24/7, I haven't seen her...

I agree..there is plenty of time for Antonio to find a new mate...

I just wonder if maybe by chance the banded juvie had anything to do with this. Even if she did we can't hold it against her we just have to remember mother nature has her own reason for these things

Oh my goodness, what a sad ending for this little enchanting falcon. I had already pictured her raising many babies here. :tissue:

I feel so sorry for poor little Antonio too.

So very sad to lose one. Not to be involved is easier said than done. Nature will have it's way we don't have to like it. Learning acceptance is a challenge we will probably never be totally comfortable with. :sorrow:

She didn't even have the chance to be a full adult....but, she sure did enjoy the time that she did have and she was so cute getting to know Antonio...
