SuzanneH, me and Simon Bijlsma - - Me, watching some Common Buzzards (Buteo buteo)

Today I was at the power plant, together with SuzanneH and her husband. They picked me up at the ferry.
At the site Simon Bijlsma joined us. He was involved in the project to put the nest box there. He is a great professional photographer:
He has a great knowledge of the area and all the birds that live and breed there.

We saw all three juveniles, one on the platform, one on the corner of the elevator tower to the right and one in the air. That one was flying very well, great show! He settled down on a light pole afterwards.

Earlier this year I (and maybe some others too) was a bit surprised about the appearance of the male. He still seemed to have some juvenile feathering.
Simon revealed that it is in fact a new male, again a young one, born in 2012

Thanks for all the nice pictures. Wow, I am so excited that you were able to go to Bergum to see the little juvies DEF. What a wonderful year for this site. And the male is a 2012 bird? He is very impressive.
