Gosh, I need to turn this off at some point, but I'm so excited.

The blog Kitten posted a link to, indicates it is Lady, but I'm waiting for official word.

Amazing!!!!

And more mating... Guess they don't want to waste any time.

Or it could be Mister letting the female he was courting that his mate is back and TAKEN

This is so beautiful..

Does this mean I have to ask permission to post pictures and video's here from the site?

Kittenface, that issue has been discussed by Admin Laurad on WoW-forum on April 10, 2012 and they've got a very nice response to resolve your question >>

Good news, I've just had a reply from the Scottish Wildlife Trust as follows:

Many thanks for your e-mail on Thursday - I hope you had a relaxing Easter break. To answer your question about using webcam screen captures on http://www.windowonwildlife.com, we would be happy for you to do this.

All we request is that you include "copyright Scottish Wildlife Trust" in your post and a link to the Lowes webcam itself
http://scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/thi ... -of-lowes/ This will help ensure that people can find the webcam easily should they be reading your blog post.

I asked for clarification, i.e., if it was sufficient to have the links in the first post only and this was their reply.

To answer your question, I'd be grateful if you could include a link + copyright with each image, as we're keen to make it as easy as possible for visitors to find the webcam from external blogs/forums. I hope that makes sense! Here's hoping for osprey chicks in the very near future

I'm so pleased they have agreed, but it does mean that this has to be added to each image posted.
http://www.window-on-wildlife.com/index ... quickreply

And the same procedere works on Hancock Wildlife Foundation Discussion Forum:

Quote:
Conditions for posting s'caps:
We may post s'caps from the Loch of the Lowes osprey cam provided we include "copyright Scottish Wildlife Trust" in the post, along with a link to the Lowes webcam itself http://scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/thi ... -of-lowes/ They would ideally like us to include a link + copyright with each image, as they are keen to make it as easy as possible for visitors to find the webcam from external blogs/forums, and I am hereby reserving the right to edit any post with s'caps that doesn't have at least one link + copyright to add that information.

I guess BCAW admins would agree... :egg20:

Osprey Diary 31st March

Posted on March 31, 2014 by rangeremma

Q: Can you show us how you are able to identify Lady from her markings,

How far back do you have pictures that you can use and what makes her different?

A: A great question. We have detailed records both photographs and drawings, going right back to the early 1990’s of this birds plumage markings etc. It was only about 10 years ago we got HD cameras and the ability to zoom in to the level of detail to allow us to use iris recognition as a form of ID. Her distinguishing features, (apart from her behaviour!) are: A ‘concord’ shape of dark feathers on the back of her head; a very dark chest band with a distinctive ‘upper circle’ of dots; a mark in her right iris in the shape of a lightning bolt on the lower edge, and in her left eye, a series of clear dots on the lower right. Here are some photo’s of these taken this morning :

2335 CST IT IS STILL A LITTLE DARK OUTSIDE AT NEST AND THIS IS THE PRETTIEST I HAVE SEEN LADDIE. SHE IS LAYING AT EDGE OF NEST HOLE FOR EGG. SHE IS VERY FULL AND FLUFFY AND HER FACE HAS A YOUTHFUL APPEARANCE IN THIS LIGHT. THIS MAY BE HER BIG DAY TO LAY AN EGG.
