As the dynamics of the nest change with a growing family, the nest cup is gone now for example, more material is brought in to make these changes.

The trick is, arranging the ever-changing nest without stomping on the kids.

Here's Big Bob and some useful information.

Bob is 16 days old today and the adult feathers are really coming through now. The egg tooth is disappearing, but will still be visible for another couple of weeks.
Bob's eyes have reached that deep amber colour which is normal for osprey chicks - they turn yellow by the age of one to two years (unless you're Monty!).
Bob is becoming more independent as time passes and can thermoregulate much better with each passing day.
We will ring Bob 1 and Bob 2 at the age of five to six weeks. No decision has been taken on tracking yet. We'll have a pretty good idea what sex each chick is when we ring them and we can then give them names. We'll follow the same protocol as previous years in naming both Bobs after rivers

.........The Dyfi chicks will be ringed in just over a week's time, but we will not be satellite tracking this year due to time constraints and other work commitments at Cors Dyfi.
Both chicks will be named as soon as we know their gender on the ringing day. As usual, they will be named after Welsh rivers. Here's a sneak preview of the two rings we'll use this year.......
