I personally don't see a brood patch (in that pic) on the Grand Haven female...I was hoping somebody else could see one.

I have cam but no one on eggs right now

I will reboot in case my cam has stopped but I hear sound

I think I hear birds sounds in distance

Allen has just now returned...heard falcon wailing in the distance and human yelling..(of course, human yelling could mean absolutely nothing)

male left and there is lots of chupping outside, not kaking. Wish I could see. Do not kknow who, as I do not watch here

forgot to not e time but Belle was back in about 8 minutes after male went out. so chupping was her outside. resting . this takes so much out of them and she was at disadvantage s her body is in recovery after egg laying

Edit : jsut to say, some of this blood may not be hers . She appears fine.

this shows feathers missing above beak area, I believe. Checked video and took out this picutre but I do have a video of her turning and you can see it better but if time I will psot it

I am reviewing my video and she does not look like she has any punctures on chest. A bit o blood but could be from other falcon. She is moving more just now , which is a good sign as she has been resting most o f time she was on.

I am not posting thee pictures so you can feel bad , i am just trying to assess and think sh elooks pretty good. You can see feathers ruffled on right shoulder .

So I will monitor when I can

She is just up and chupping but not kaking. So maybe male is coming back

chupping is more distant now .
this is a noisy cam. Can always hear people

Poor little baby at Toledo. How sad for her to have to fight while still laying her eggs. I haven't been able to get this cam but managed to get it just now. Maybe that is the male with the eggs as I don't see any blood.

Yeah. male just left and Belle came in and we have 3 eggs in scrape now Picture coming. She sure sounds
you could see him going over to right and trying since he was in there. maybe by morning all 4

remember it is early in incubation an d as long as they are turned, and kept at right temp. I keep remembering Pittsburg

SGB - falcon in your photo looks to have bands? This one has bare legs.

Carly, both falcons at Grand Haven are banded. If you are seeing an unbanded bird in the box, then its a recent replacement, heaven forbid!!

Ljames, the clutch was complete at Toledo. (4 eggs) 2 of the eggs got knocked out of the scrape during the fight. They've managed to pull 3 together..

I kept Toleda open for most of the evening..well, until it crashed and I couldn't get it back. Nothing really eventful, but I did get a couple of pics of Belle's left eye. I know cams can distort, but there does appear to be an injury to the lid. Its fairly evident in these pics. I can't tell if its just swollen or torn or what. I watched her open and close it and you can see the gap. She wasn't messing with it or rubbing it so hopefully its not causing too much pain.

Now that I enlarge it some, it actually could be a swollen lid with dried blood..just for reference, this lid is closed.

I just read back on all your posts. Did not realize that she has been spending evenings n box.

she is just so cute, did to realize her age, but still young. maybe she will yet
