Sorry, trying to do 15 things at once. My niece is here and trying to get Hubby out the door, so couldn't get the old PC turned on.

Anyway, she chupped during this whole labor and she started rapid "I see a falcon" chupping during LAST push. All I could think was... NOT TIME FOR AN INTRUDER

Now she just rapidly chupped, tail spread and took off very fast.

She's out of box. No egg coverage

Excellent, was worried it was an intruder but she's just hungry... :teehee:

That was probably what she was complaining about... thankfully. It is all quiet. She's probably telling him.. get me food - why didn't you get me something earlier. I'm starving and now I'm laying another one!

Glad to see they have a full clutch this year! Oh, at least DC didn't have Beauty step on his tail to get him off the eggs like Eve did to Mitchell! (Didn't really work--he simply flipped around & slithered back onto the eggs!) :teehee: I can't wait to watch this couple raise a family--they're so good at it!

auntiewood (grannywood): KP East - 2 falcons on rail on lower building!!! One looks juvenile plumage & whining! Could this be Billy?

ps: DC was on eggs at the time of the tweet so he wasn't one of the two.

Thank you Carly!

Here are a few follow-up tweets:

auntiewood (grannywood):KP East- looking allittle aggressive here:( Maybe 2 females ?

auntiewood (grannywood):KP East- Carol P & I need to go. Could be love here or could be hate. Little tough to tell...

Thank you again Carly. I was processing/editing videos and didn't see her last tweet regarding bands!

Have you ever seen a subadult tiercel mate successfully with an adult falcon?

I know they didn't get a positive ID on the banded juvie who was out at BS, but at one point, thought DC and the banded juvie were the same size when they saw them flying together. Just wondering if the juvie was a male, would he be able to successfully mate/raise young with an adult falcon. We've seen the reverse (juvie falcon/adult tiercel), but I can't recall the other scenario.

Yes I've seen a 1 year tiercel mate and raise offspring with an adult female - Hudson bridge I think, a few years ago.

That's right, Carly. He was the one that would sit on the lip of the nestbox when the female took breaks (not incubating), but nevertheless there were 2 hatches! The following year they were doing work on the bridge & moved the nestbox, so we didn't find out whether he was there again or not.
