I posted it in the 2013 section, but here's last year's NJ Peregrine report: http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/ensp/pdf/pefa13_report.pdf

Hopefully everyone has seen the fundraising effort to get this new cam going. Ben is doing a nice job of promoting peregrines with a blog on the website and on facebook.

Bonnie and I recieved some great news today from Ben Wurst at CWF: we will have a cam this year!!! As of now they're planning to install on Tuesday. Funding will still be needed going forward, so spread the word! :shamrock:

Don't know what their Twitter handle is, but they will be live tweeting during the installation, so keep an eye out for that as well! :sham6:

Edit to add link to CWF's website. You can look them up on Facebook as well.

Ben is doing a great job with the osprey cam, so I'm sure he will do that here as well. Mike, I assume he knows about the forum?

2014 NJDEP nest news :)

Jersey City nestbox news...Scroll about halfway down
to see the 3/19 post.

The camera is not online yet. We need to go back to the site next week
to configure the network settings so that we can stream the camera feed(s).

This entry has pics of both birds. Difficult to make out bands on the male (although perching on the parapet is a Six trademark), but the female shows just a single silver band, Athena's trademark. On Chris Saladin's Ohio Peregrine Page on FB, I saw in a gallery description that females can be somewhat inactive when approaching egg-laying time (trying to conserve energy), so that could explain the behavior. I have a feeling if eggs were already present, things would've been quite different, lol!

Btw, this system having audio and IR is one heck of an upgrade, wowzers!!!! That new cam on the nestbox floor could potentially nab some of Athena's band numbers (especially ones on that back part of the band that have always been the hardest to get).

That is a great point Mike! What an upgrade this will be! I assume they are using the same supplier as the osprey cam, who we are also using in VA. They are awesome cams. He has done all of the cams for the Eagle Foundation including the very popular Florida cam. Stellar.
