Cam shows her back by the scrape tonight. She had to ledge hop to get there. I'm sure she followed the shade. West side got hot, hot, hot!

Our Shady Lady was OK when I left at 11:30 today. She must have had a HUGE breakfast because all she wanted to do was sleep it off. She jumped and used her wings to get from the scrape ledge to the west terrace ledge.

She found her some shade and was all nice and comfy until she started preening and slipped...LOL I left her...trying to get comfy again..

All that flapping is because her parents were making passes in front of her and above her to get her to fly. Was down there this morning. Had to leave just as she was losing her shade by the parapet. I thought for sure she would fly as soon as I drove off. Here is a picture from the ground.

Just checked CWF's FB page and they report our girl fledged at 3:34 p.m. accompanied by an adult!!! Get those fingers and toes crossed!!

Maybe/hopefully she'll come back to the area of the box as evening arrives....Boss did that for quite some time after he fledged last year (I have a still pic from July 7 with him nestled on the ledge against the box's right side)...

Great capture, Mike! Missed you. I can't watch and take pictures at the same time, plus talk to everyone who goes by and asks "What are you looking at?"

And SBG, it was not too soon. For the adults it was not soon enough!

79/AN (also known as Ivy) fledged today from 101 Hudson Street in Jersey City at 3:34pm!! Kathy Clark, ENSP watched her lean forward and take her first flight via the Falcon Cam. She was followed by one of the adults as she left the safety of the ledge. Hopefully we'll see her visit the nestbox on the roof sometime soon!

It's so nice to see Ivy back on the ledge after fledging yesterday. She must be quite the expert flyer to make it back so soon.
