Welcome Fledgling Fan. I watch Edmonton U of A's fledge, this is going to start July 17. I hope you enjoy the forum and all the wonderful friends that you meet here and beyond your borders.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. I have to admit, I am not much with a camera and it can be somewhat rare for me to see the birds - yesterday was a total good luck surprise - unless I know where to look via twitters, etc. But if I can get any photos, I sure will (just don't hold your breath). And by the way, my favorite photo of all taken is the one of Skye doing a gestapo step on the windowsill. I love how these birds appear to being wearing well tailored pantaloons.

Did have to dig for an update facebook entry from Bob Walters, but here it is:

Bob Walters <09:47 a.m. Just returned from downtown. Found 4/5. We experienced high winds last evening and that may account for what I think is the, again, missing Skye. However, she seems to have a habit of hanging out south of South Temple Street in the east City Creek area and even further to the south. Nonetheless, yesterday (2:02 p.m., or so) I observed all three young-of-the-year in a row on the sign (red-colored key icon/logo and words Key Bank) on the north face of the Key Bank Tower. I'll go down again later in the morning to attempt to round 'em up*. This morning, Dad was perched on a narrow vertical column on the north face of the Zion Bank Tower. He appeared to be up on his feet.. The injured foot reoported by Marianne Reid was not detected to be hanging limply either forward, or backward. So, I'll just continue to watch for any hint of a problem. AFN RW

Another update from Bob saying he believes he saw Skye at noon hour today:

"Bob Walters I believe that I observed Skye at 12:03 - 12:27 p.m. She was perched on the north face of the east wing (shoulder level) of the Eagle Gate Tower, then to the west to the north face (and far to the west) high on the Zions Bank Tower then to the north face high on the Gateway West Tower (new Key Bank Tower) on the southwest corner of the intersection of Main and South Temple streets. I did not find any other family members around at that time. Maybe, out on a training/group hunting trip, featuring demo's by the adults? RW"

I can confirm that I saw (at least) two of the peregrines landing on Gateway Tower West and then 20 minutes later two were flying together in the same area for some minutes at around 2:00 p.m. before they went out of my view (probably to Eagle Gate). I looked for them on the "older" Key Bank bldg on State St (which I can see from the office, but not Eagle Gate which is blocked from my view by Zion's bldg) and did not see anyone perched on letters there.

I used to work on the 18th floor of Gateway West Tower until my office moved away a couple weeks ago (bad timing!). Our IT specialist was just there this afternoon gathering up some materials he left behind and took several great pictures of two youngsters through the window. I will post them on FB later when he sends them to me. He said the two were flying around and playing with each other up high around the tower and the temple -- so I would think it was Ace and Hunter, possibly? They were doing great, he said.

ajoslc, what a coincidence! Two actually, since we are also moving out in a few months and so I will miss next year's fledges. Very much looking forward to the photos! (I work several floors below but have coworkers on the top floor - they have an amazing view.)

That is a coincidence! How funny. He hasn't sent me the pictures yet. I miss the Gateway Tower, peregrines flying by at eye level all the time!

OH NO..that's a bummer...Its a juvie, screaming its head off. Because of the Freezing, its only in 1 frame. I would imagine if the streaming were working properly, we would have seen a kid in hot pursuit of a parent..
